I know this has never been a working feature, but this morning I noticed in my Facebook news feed that someone used a hash tag for their status update and to my shock it was in the blue hyperlink format.
Is this now a working feature?

This is a screenshot of a test run I did on my FB account. I am now wondering if it’s actually a feature with my HootSuite Google Chrome add-on. When I click the hash tag hyperlink it opens up the HootSuite search window. Just never noticed it until now.

I haven’t seen that yet, @watsonks- I would be very interested if that was a feature! I wonder if it would work with public posts only – I guess it would have to! Very interesting.

I have seen people use hash tags as well (not so sure about the hyperlink part).

I am not sure why people will use hash tags on FB posts. The only thing I could think is that they are also invitating the viewers to visit their posts and stories on Twitter and Google+. It will definetely be nice if FB incorporates hash tags.
