Not sure how I missed this, but I just learned today that your username at FB doubles as an email address when you use it like this … yourusername@facebook.com
Messages sent to your FB email go to your messages box on FB, and when sending messages to an email the from is set from your FB email address.
I wonder where messages from non friends end up? Do they get filtered into the “other” box since they didn’t pay the $1.00 fee?
Any one else see this, or use it?

And I haven’t seen that $1 fee yet despite messaging someone who wasn’t my friend recently. I know others have seen it. I don’t feel like I have a good business case to use the Facebook e-mail feature. Possibly to connect with someone at a higher level.

I haven’t used the facebook email either. That is an interesting question regarding the $1 fee. I am not paying facebook a $1 to get people to see my messages.
