Happy Birthday to the Facebook Club! Share your favorite tip! (12 posts)

  • Happy Birthday to the Clubs today!

I’m very excited to have connected with you all!  I’d love to have everyone share a tip that they have learned here in the Clubs over the last year.   Or share how you have grown on Facebook over this last year.  Great time to reflect on all that has happened in 2012!

  • My biggest achievement on Facebook has been customer acquisition. When I started out on Facebook back into 2010, I didn’t know what I was doing. But I have been learning the ropes ever since, and have also been implementing them. Facebook is now my primary social media platform, and I also run seminars teaching small business owners how to use it effective to brand themselves and market their services to the right people.

  • the  best  general tip   was to   post  2  times a day….hearing  andrea say this   was  great and   we acted upon it…..the next  best tip  was to  filter  who  gets my  promoted posts, we stopped   letting  them  go to  friends of  friends…. … there were so many others….

plus  the  fun of  hearing from and talking to  the whole  range of  the members…needing  to  deal  with  the   changes  on  facebook   has m ade this place  even more  valuable to me….

for us  facebook has  kept  growing   and  continues to be a huge plus  for our  business….

  • Happy birthday to this awesome community!

While reading through Clubs I came to this idea, maybe someone can find it useful:
There is a shop and online store selling premium spice here in Czech Republic, it is called “Koreni od Antonina” (Anthonys Spice).

We have created gingerbread hearts with our logo and shared them with a recipe (featuring gingerbread spice) and they had a great success (nearly 300 likes and 110 shares).

Have anyone else tried to create and share something real and related to the business? Did it work too?

  • Happy Birthday!

The SME community as made such a difference for me, and my fans.  The connections I have made, the knowledge that is shared. What a gift!   :)

  • @andrea-vahl I believe that our Facebook page has more activity than before (though it’s still a work in progress). The conversations of this club have been ever so helpful. I hope that I have been able to give back as well!

Looking to the future, I’m uber excited to start promoting our 2013 conference as we’re securing some big-name speakers from Mashable, WPP, TBWA and a currently hot author. This should create more conversations on our page (right now it’s most likes and shares).

  • @andrea-vahl So happy to be a part of the club!

One of the greatest tips I still go back to is adjusting the info for every page to start with the website address for the business in the info section. This made sure the link was always prevalent before any of the “Facebook-specific” information. We didn’t have cookies to track the click-through to our page, but it helped answer visitor questions beyond what is posted on our page!

  • @randithompson I just finished listening to your webinar at this year’s Facebook Success Summit and then I see your name here. Small world. Your story along with PJ Jonas was fascinating. It’s amazing how some of us have come to this social media revolution.

What’s great about the groups is you can network and learn so much from each other. It’s another Social Media Examiner marketing success. Can’t believe it’s been a year.

  • Great thoughts everyone!!  I’ve really enjoyed “virtually” meeting you all @kathyweir @alexandrabriggs @kc_kreative
    @randithompson @ladik_ @annfurnivall @otoabasiumonting

So fun interacting with you here.  The Clubs have been a great place of connection!

  • @kathyweir Hi, Kathy.  The Facebook Summit is amazing!  I have a feeling that your story is also pretty amazing.  Social media has changed the consciousness of the world and we are a part of that change!

  • @randithompson Agree Randy, mine is pretty funny and it all came about because a friend thought I knew social media because Communications was part of my company name!
