  • Has anyone liked Grey Poupon? What an interesting app they’re using. You have to have influence to have your like accepted. I learned about it through a friend who has a Mustard Blog. She was denied liking the page. So I had to try it and got in. Is anyone else using this to set up an “exclusive” club?

I really like this idea. Would love to know how they did this. Do you know?

  • Just read an article about it this morning. Funny how that works! They just started their community and they have some interesting objectives. Definitely looking for fans who are interactive and have influence. Even spelling and grammar is rated! What an interesting app and approach!

  • This is very interesting,  @kathyweir!   Of course I had to try it to see if I “cut the mustard” as they say.  And I was shocked to find out that I didn’t get accepted!  Very interesting idea to make it an exclusive club.  But they did not “rescind” my Like – so far at least.

@randithompson  They created their own App for this with programming and since you give the App permission to access your personal Facebook data, that’s where they draw from to show you a little “movie” about your activity.
Clearly this is working for them as a strategy since they are getting it covered in blogs.  Interesting!

  • Absolutely brilliant. I have to say it is a VERY clever little application, and even more clever execution. Someone over there is thinking.

  • One thing that worked against me was being in Tucson. Do they think we’re a bunch of hicks? I think I started using Grey Poupon after we moved here in 1971:)

  • Well @kathyweir we are just far to high brow to say anything… but… (I kid I kid!)

Actually I’m 99% sure they are looking at just five metrics: 1) education, 2) tv shows, 3) music taste, 4) favorite books, and 5) general level of likes and feel for comments.

That’s just a guess. I think the rest is just for show. I say that because I failed to get in, added “Bach” to music and “War and Peace” to books and got in, with a MUCH higher score.

  • @jasonreilly I think what helped me was all the pages I liked. Who knows for sure, but it was fun to get it. Now lets see if they kick us out! Better like, comment and share!

  • @andrea-vahl I cannot believe you didn’t get accepted. You are so well connected!

  • @kathyweir I’ve been kicked out of far more prestigious places. :D

  • @jasonreilly At least they’re making it fun!
