feeling guilty (6 posts)

  • you know  how much i  value  our  facebook marketing…the  free  part of  facebook  is major for us  and   is   going to   be  a big part    for  our  big  event this  weekend…….i know that already, im posting about it  every day and      im getting   tons of  good  feedback    ..   i feel  guilty for not  using a   facebook ad   for our big event this weekend…. i would gladly  do a 100$$  fb  ad….BUT  i  cant   see  a useful group to send  the  ad to…

this is what i would  call a hard   client  question, the kind   you might  get  from a client  sometime  …???i posted  the issues in an earlier thread…. basically i dont have a good  search word  for my kind of   customer…she is an adventurous upscale adventurous homeowner between  30 and  70,     who likes  rehabbed  and   re purposed  furniture   and not  necessarily  antiques…she is  whimsicle and   likes    making her  home  the  greatest…. . i need  the  right words to put in the  facebook   compartments for the ad….  .  …

…. i havent  figured it out and   am probablly   not  going to   run an ad…. probably will  run  a10$$  promoted post   at least….

  • Um, are you asking a question or just making a statement?

  • i ask  the  question  a  couple of days ago and  little   response;(down below, called  facebook ad].i think its too hard…from  afar….

..  yes a question!!!….any  good  word  for me?   it  would  be a local ad  maybe a 100 mile  circle….i described my  target woman above….i know  the general stuff and i have   looked at  piles of  keywords….

  • I think you are right, @annfurnivall – it’s hard to define your customer.  But I think there are a few activities that your customer may like – knitting? gardening? coupons?  antiques?  I think you could try a few of those keywords and get some traction with them.  Especially since you are also targeting geographically.  And no need to feel guilty over not spending money on ads!  You get a lot of great interaction which is nice!

  • @andrea-vahl …thats  about  where i  came  down on this  too……. and  we  do  target   garden   for our  spring  thing, that  really made  sense..guess im  not  going to do any for this  event……  ….. i am just so  grateful  for  facebook and  would like to   support them   a little more….

our  facebook   database is   so  valuable….  and  wierdly  free….compared to our  snail mail  database  which we just used to send out     4000 postcards… $$$$$   that  one is to   actual  customers who  signedup  in the store   and we have done it  for a long time…..

  • @annfurnivall Anne I would target the area around your store and limit your spend to what you’re comfortable with.

You can also run a contest on Facebook for an item or added value for a low cost using something like WooBox and talk about the event that way as well. Example: Free meal, $20 gift card… something like that. And it can only be used at… Your event.

    Best of luck!
