Fanpage builder, ShortStack, Lujure etc. wich one do you use? (46 posts)

  • Hi social people!

Yesterday I followed the Small Business Summit 2012 presentation from Amy Porterfield and Andrea Vahl. Near the end of the presentation they presented some Fanpage builders.ShortStack, Lujure, TabPress and Wildfire.

I’m thinking about using ShortStack but I have a question (two actually).

My new fanpage Studio Web Presence is hosted outside of Facebook (Wordpress theme). Because of this I’m using an SSL certificate. People who do not surf with HTTPS enabled do not see my fanpage :(

Now my questions: 1. If I’m going to use one of the other tools mentioned, is my Facebook fanpage going to be seen by everybody that visits my page?2. What app are you using and why?3. Could you be so nice to visit my fanpage and check if you see the correct landingpage (it should look like this)

Thank you for your time and help!

  • Hi Edwin,

    I see your page :)

Just curious how did you get the wordpress theme on FB? which theme is it?

Am new to this and do not use any fan page builders. Do they really help?

  • I been using Lujure for the last month! Just curious about the others Shortstack,Wildfire?

  • @mayankbangiaimpresario Do you see https on the beginning of the Facebook url? Maybe you already visit the site with the correct security setting.. People who did not checked this setting do not see my page, and a lot of people do not see it… The theme that I’m using this moment is http://fbfanpagepress.com. You must know how to work with Wordpress and how to make a subdomain..

@margotproctor, I think Lujure is pretty expensive, $300,- a month so there is no branding… I dont like that.. (although very easy to use!). I’m going to test ShortStack soon so will give an update ;)

  • Just clicked on fbfanpagepress and they have a notice they are closing down.

I agree with the price for no branding Lujure. Looking for something else cheaper with no branding.

  • I use ShortStack, and decided I would use it after trying a couple others.

  • Hey all,

I am the owner of the FanPageEngine, so you are welcome to check us out and see if we meet your needs. We pride ourselves in being the one time fee guys with no monthly fees. Let me know what you think too and I am here if you have any questions…but the truth is, there are so many out there you just need to see which one fits your needs as they ALL have different features that make them unique…

    Hope this helps!

  • I never go out do this but @David Foster Fanpageengine has been the easiest fanpage builder format I have seen. And I can’t until the 4.0 comes out this month! Get this folks!!! It’s AWESOME!!!!

  • Thank you Scottie!! We appreciate that and I myself cannot wait to use 4.0. I have got to play with it, and it is lightyears beyond v3…but again thank you!!

  • @davidfoster, maybe you can also answer my first question when I started the thread ;) Tonight I tried to visti my fanpage via the FB of a friend of mine… But no luck again… The most likes I have now is from people who know me but they did not see my fanpage because it uses an iFrame (https must be enabled and not a lot of people use that I think…)

So please enlighten me :) (and others)

  • @davidfoster I’ll check out FanPageEngine. I’ve also used ShortStack which I find really user friendly and I just found out about pholiofy which is supposed to be good.

@edwindeleeuw are they already friends with you? If so they may not see the fan page. They would have to navigate to it from the left hand side. Make sense? Check that out first and if it’s still not working you may want to check the code on the landing page.

    Hope that helps,

    R

  • I use Shortstack and really like it. I’ve done contest tabs collecting entries, then putting them up for votes (so far the best thing we’ve done to get new fans). And I’ve done their featured product tab, Flickr tab, welcome tab, etc. So far they have met our needs and their customer service is great.

@davidfoster I’ll check out FanPageEngine though too. :)

  • @edwindeleeuw~ just an FYI, I can see your page and I’m not surfing secured.  If you are not using an SSL, people cannot see your page if they’re surfing secure (HTTPS), but it doesn’t work in reverse.

  • To all who responded, thank you for your insights! Just to clear things up:- I am using SSL for my iFrame- Code on my page is correct

Strange to see that @dedimason can see my page while not surfing with https enabled (just tried it on a different computer with a different account..)

  • @davidfosterThanks David. I am going to use FanPageEngine.
Looks like what I need for my pages and a client’s.

  • I build my iframe pages from scratch and host on my server with ssl cert. That way it  stays under my complete control.

  • @edwindeleeuw~ That is strange.  Wonder if it’s a browser thing . . . I’m using Firefox.

  • @dedimason I dont think so… A couple of weeks ago I also build a page with the same iFrame builder and that page showsup to everybody… I will find out what is going on ;)

    Thanks for you time everybody!

  • You’re welcome all! :) Please let me know if you ever have any questions!

  • @mtheory How do you do this? This is exactly what I want to do. These other sites do not let you have control and if you don’t keep up with the monthly rate they take it down. Do you use WordPress to create the content?

  • @davidfoster Hey David, I am checking out video tutorials on fanpageengine.com
I really like what I am seeing.
One question I need to know for certain is, if I build a client’s fanpage ( a completely different facebook account I administer for the client) am I also able to use with my own account with my own facebook fanpages without complication.
I want to use the developer pkg if this is not an issue. Appreciate your input.
    Thanks

See if it’s what you’re looking for.Hope that helps.

Please let me know if you’ve any question.

  • @louisteoh  Thanks Louis. I will check it out!

  • @louisteohThank you Louis for sharing SocialNetworkAcademy.com
This is excellent and am jumping in with both feet.
I will have to share more how it’s going.
    Thanks again

  • I looked at FanPage Engine and it looks good, but would really like to see a fully functional trial even for just 2 weeks to a month.

  • For Fanpage builders, so far I’ve been outsourcing this task to two different people, but I’m thinking of bringing the job back in-house. One of them is using Fan Page Engine and loves it. The other uses Pagemodo and Customizer. I’d heard of Wildfire for promotions, but not so much for Welcome Tabs. Does anyone have experience with any of these other apps? What do you think of them?

@edwindeleeuw I’m not sure if you already found the problem w/ your FB page, but I see your welcome tab whether or not I have secure browsing enabled. Either way, it’s got https in the url.

  • Hey dudes, try out Social Stage, it’s my favourite from all the FB app sites I’ve used. I found it really easy to build creative landing custom landing pages and transform Facebook’s navigation bar into a more website feel

  • @rebeccacohen You can manage your pages as well as any clients you would have as long as you are the admin of their pages. With our upcoming Agency, you will also be able to have multiple admins. Hope this helps!

    ~David

  • Design and host on our own server, but use Woobox app to set up the page on the specific page’s tab.

  • Edwin – Hello from Colorado Ski Country USA!  I followed your link in this thread and could not see your custom page portion.  I added https:// in front in the URL and the custom page popped up.

I really like your header.  I’m just building two fan pages for my business and my new social media book due out this early summer.

I used to for the Netherland’s based Randstad here in Denver.

    Mike

  • @davidfoster Thanks David.
Yes, this helps and I am waiting definitely for Agency to be released.

  • @louisteoh Hi Louis,
I did sign up for free version but haven’t had any responses to my emails in regard to premium membership.
Time is of essence for me right now.
Great training videos but would like to maybe know more about premium and moving on. I’d love to see what else is available

  • @louisteoh I believe for now I am going to create my own fan pages and utilize the training availabe. Then I can make a decision later on for which direction to go.
Some great options have been presented here and available.

  • Hi everybody, I’m back from a short vacation and enjoy reading al the new comments! ;)
@k4satin, thanks for checkin! I’m busy now with the website development for a client and will look into shortstack and alternatives (mentioned above) shortly.@mikemacey, also thanks for checking and the Like ;) I visited Whistler Canada a couple of years ago and met a lot of people from Colorado! They made sure I’m going to hit the slopes there one time in the future, enthusiastic people!
@all who replied, lets keep this thread going but I want to ad another question in the mix..  Also for @davidfoster and other people who are developers of pagebuilders…
What wil happen with the fangating, fanpages etc. when Timeline for business comes available?

  • @rebeccacohen, could you please forward your email to me at louis@thisislouisteoh.com  so that i can check it up for you ? Meantime, use the free training video & templates to create the fanpages that you like.

  • @louisteoh
Thanks Louis. I will do this.

  • @rebeccacohen, you’re most welcome. I’ll be waiting for your email. I’ve just dropped them a note to ask them to look into your request but i’m afraid it may take them some time as i don’t have any detail of your email and its content yet. So, when i get your email i’ll forward it to them to facilitate their checking. By the way, please remember to let me know which email address did you email to.

  • @rebeccacohen, I’ve just received your email and am looking into it. My apology for not replying your earlier 2 email as there seems to be a bug in my email client which caused all my recent incoming mail to go into my junk mail for some weird reason. Will revert with an answer asap. Thank you for your patience, Rebecca.

  • Faceitpages.com looks like another good choice of Fan Page Builders! They also have a lot of apps that you can use!!
I have a website that offers 100% Custom Designed Fan Pages (with Free SSL hosting). Check it out at http://stunningfanpages.com

Shoot me a message if you’re interested in white label or affiliate options!

  • Hi EdwinI don’t see the main part of your page- I mean the center one under your name “Studio Web Presence”. I use Chrome on Win XP

  • @webstockpro Thanks for checking. I’m going to use a different service in the future so I hope my page is visible for everybody.

  • http://www.iwipa.com – affordable, original and flexible :)

  • I use iwipa for my own FB Fan Page.

  • @rebeccacohen very soon on Agency…very soon!!! =]

  • I use ShortStack. Find it easy to use and great support ;)

  • I’ve been using the Free ShortStack – very simple interface but now will be moving to Pagemodo.  When I’m ready to pay for a service I don’t like it to be limited and Pagemodo designs are much  more modern and up to date.
