Facebook’s Promoted Posts (5 posts)

  • Hello All…
Just wondering how people are feeling about Facebook’s promoted posts option.
    Good? Bad? Indifferent?

  • the last onei  did   worked  great….be  sure and   dont put ~ friends of  friends~…i did that and  got   hundreds of  views  from overseas…. which is  not   very likely  for my page….

now i just put   to  friends only……  i hate paying  but  am willing to do   10 or 15$$  a week in promoted posts….. mostly for my  very important   inventory albums….since  i always  got  some  actual sales  from the albums….and  since now  the picture posts are  reaching  fewer i need to   reach more of my fans  ……

  • Hello Ann…My main concern regarding promoted posts is that our community would not appreciate ‘financing’ our facebook page.

We are a high end restaurant in a tourist area, so social media is a good tool to reach out to the locals who are essentially ‘priced out’ of our venue.  We run promotions geared towards bringing repeat business from our community.

    Thanks for the feedback:)

    Cheers!
    Lynn

  • The issue with a true promoted post, @elle is that it goes out to all your current Fans only. You can also have it go out to friends of fans but as Ann said, the results have not been good with that option and it wouldn’t make sense to go out to non-local people.

I would probably do something different like a straight Facebook Ad that tells a little bit about your offer in the body of the ad and then segment the target audience to go to only people in your local area.  Then it could be fans or non-fans who are local to you.

  • Thanks for the feedback, Andrea:)
