  • How many of you have Welcome Pages for your Fan Pages?
What do you do for Welcome Page?

What Facebook App or other app do you use?

  • @runnersrunning1 prior to timeline for pages, most people used static iframe tab for welcome page on fb pages. People still use it for welcome page on timeline but it is not actual welcome page since timeline is the first and welcome gate on facebook page now. You may want to use easy to install http://apps.facebook.com/static_html_plus/

  • @runnersrunning1 I find one very nice alternative for landing page. You can find about it here http://bit.ly/fangatealternative

  • I use my welcome page to let the viewer know what is available on the page, how to navigate and find certain features and sometimes add an email capture form. I think dropping someone right into the timeline is like dropping someone in the middle of a conversation. It can get overwhelming so I let them know beforehand what to expect.

  • In my experience, welcome pages have been rendered useless with the mandatory switch to Timeline View.  It is no longer possible to replace your timeline with a welcome app.

I purchased one online from Pagemodo, and it is pointless.  In order to visit the welcome page, people must find it on my tabs.  It blends in so well with the page, no one has clicked it.  Not once.

I would not recommend bothering with a welcome page, and instead, “pin” a welcome post to the top of your timeline.  This has been more effective for me.
