A client of mine has had his Time line covered with Adsense advertising. Is this a security problem or a bug? He is really angry and I have no idea what to tell him.

@barbaralemairephd This isn’t adsense, it’s a very frustrating 3rd party Facebook app called PageRage – there may be others. But typically it’s something the person installed intentionally (or maybe unintentionally) and it claims things like custom background or sometimes a way to make money (but it has ads all over the profile)
Go into the Account Settings and then Apps and find any apps that the client doesn’t need and delete them. That should get the profile back to normal.

@andrea-vahl Thank you so much for the answer. This client is just learning Facebook at 88 and the ads are driving him mad! He is a good student and I don’t want him to be discouraged.
