Facebook Targeted Posts for Business Pages (10 posts)

  • I wanted to start a thread on this because for me it’s something really exciting.

If you haven’t heard, Facebook announced last week that they’re rolling out targeting options on posts.  Here’s a post on it from Mashable - http://mashable.com/2012/08/03/facebook-target-age-gender/

I’m excited because I have a lot clients that have a huge range of fans and it’s often difficult to keep everyone engaged without flooding pages with posts.

With the ability to send targeted posts, I believe engagement rates will increase exponentially and it can be used more effectively as a marketing tool.

    What do you all think?

  • @iamconsulting Hi Nichole

I think it is a great idea! :)

  • @iamconsulting …..thanks  nichole…..i will  be using this ,

  • Those new targeting features are really interesting.
Now that you have to pay (the “promote” feature) to reach a higher audience on your Facebook page, having specific targeting options will help increase the post reach efficiency. Don’t you agree?

  • @iamconsulting I did see this article last week (and even tweeted to my work’s followers). It may prove useful for me during conference time when I’m trying to reach non-members.

  • @iamconsulting This looks very interesting.  Does anyone know when it will be generally available?

  • @dianebianchi

They’ve already started rolling it out, it should be available to all Page admins within the next few weeks.

  • Thanks @iamconsulting!

  • I definitely like that option if you are going to be paying for the promoted posts, @iamconsulting  It’s nice to get some of the targeting that you can get in the regular ads.

  • @andrea-vahl

Definitely!  It’s always exciting getting “new toys” to play with.  I have a few clients with a broad audience range so it will be extremely helpful in getting the right messages to the right people.  I can see this making a huge impact on engagement.
