Facebook @tagging on a page (10 posts)

  • Okay this is convoluted …
I’ve made a post as my business page, on my business page … then I switch over to my personal profile and I comment on the post I just made on my business page … I used to be able to @tag someone one my business page with my personal profile. But I wake up this am and the @tag with my personal profile on my business page comment isn’t working! What gives! Is anyone else having the same problem?

    Hey Amy.

As far as I can tell you can @tag people who are your friends or pages you Like when using your personal profile and @tag people who have liked your page when using the Business Page profile.

I don’t think you can @tag people who are not your friends even if tey Like your page when using your personal profile…but then again I could be wrong :)

  • @alexandrevicente  HI Alex,

I was trying to @tag a person that was both my friend and liked my page … my husband, and it didn’t work. SOOO FRUSTRATING!!!!!  I had just found a way to beat the system and they took it away!!!

  • @amyhallbiz

Amy, is your husband, by any chance, an admin to that page? If he is, the @tag does not work. It should work for regular fans though. I’ve just tried it :)

  • @alexandrevicente Okay I guess the Facebook Gods heard my anguish and decided to send some @tag love my way, because now it’s working!!!!  I tried for 1 hours last night … all different type of ways and all sorts of different people. Even the @tag for my husband, who is also an admin on my page, work. Thank you Zuck!!

  • @amyhallbiz

Yeah, Facebook has a way for dribing us all mad at points :) Glad it’s all working now!

  • I had better try mine again because it has not worked for me since the Timeline change.

Thanks for the input @amyhallbiz and @alexandrevincente

  • I just tried and I can only tag other pages, although it doesn’t seem to matter if they’ve liked me, since Kim Kardashian popped up.

  • Hi guys

Simple question. Can I mention my website too?  Silly question but there’s a reason I’m asking.  Do I just go @ and then my website? I now know what the older people meant when they said they don’t have time or patience to figure all this new stuff out.  I’m really hoping you can help and if possible mention my website (www.ubuntuonline.co.za) as I’m really excited to see the Facebook insights and my Google analytics.

  • @amyhallbiz When things don’t work on Facebook (and it happens a lot!) refresh your browser. That takes care of about 90% of the problems I have.

If that doesn’t work, come back later.

Facebook never goes down, but that doesn’t mean that it is always working 100%.
