  • I think I have asked this before but now its getting frustrating.

Whenever I post on my Facebook Page, The reach is almost always the same between 22 – 33 %

Why oh Why is it not more, are only this percentage of my likes using facebook regularly.

    Thanks

    John

  • my  reach   stay in a range too…from 25 to 40….so i figure i should   try harder to  engage  the  rest of them…..  with  better  content and  especially   better more  interesting pictures….

i did a promoted post,  SO CHEAP,  to  reintroduce  our page to the  drop outs….it reached  over 700  dormant   fans…

also  i study what posts  got the higher   numbers and  try and do more of that….

our  highest was when   we  took about  70 nice  close up   pictures of  customers   at our  big event….they loved that!!!

  • @johnpristine  @annfurnivall While the Facebook reach metric is important i think its important for businesses to realise that this isn’t the be all and end all with regards to getting your content seen. I’ve always been sceptical about this metric as Facebook has introduced this as a key metric the same time its Reach generator/promoted posts have been released.

To help increase engagement there’s a few key things you can do :

    1. Include photos/videos in atleast 80% of your posts as these are optimised for the newsfeed with the majority of your fans interacting with your posts through the newsfeed and stand out to your fans visually.
    2. Change your cover image on a regular basis to help keep your content fresh and up to date
    3. “Pin Content” to the top of your page. This can be a giveaway/competition or a piece of really engaging content you would like to promote.
    4. “Highlight content” . This process is different to “pinning” as highlighting allows you to expand the size of the post to take up the width of the screen and works best with photos/video helping to create a more visually appealing presence for your fans
    5. Monitor insights – This is key to helping increase your reach. By looking into your insights it is important to analyse who your key demographic and where they are from. Taking this information you should determine the times that these users are most active online and post your updates accordingly. To help determine your Engagement rate : Divide people talking about this by the number of fans
Hope these quick tips help you both on your journey :)

  • Thanks Ravi, I have a competition running at the moment and it my first one, not even my friends that like my page have entered the competition so Im just wondering if it has even appeared on their feed.  It has on mine, So Im trying to get them to share the page with the competition and increase my followers.

Some posts with pics will follow, I will take your advice there thank you and start Pinning and highlighting more posts.

    Thanks

    John

  • @johnpristine I agree with what everyone else has been posting but want to add that it can help to vary the timing of your posts as well as the days. I have found I reach more people at certain times than others. It is worth trying and watching.

  • @johnpristine  I think your reach is pretty good!  I know some people have only 15-20% reach for each post.    It seems that Facebook will only reach a higher percentage with the paid promoted posts unless you use some of the great strategies given by  @ravishukle and try varying the timing sometimes like  @alexandrabriggs said.

It’s frustrating but Pages are just not showing up in everyone’s News Feed.  Also it’s important to remember that not everyone is logging in a the right time to see them.

  • Common sense would make you think that If a person “Likes” my page then they want to see my posts, it begs the questions, is the % based on people who have interacted with my post ?

Anyhoo!!  I will change the timing and structure of my posts and see what happens.

    Thanks All

    John

  • Agree with @andrea-vahl . Let us know how you get on @johnpristine :)

  • Thanks all, Im probably getting too excited about running the competition and expecting lots of shares and entries and the Likes to start to rocket,

    Slowly… Slowly … Catchy…Monkey..

I contacted a few Friends directly and asked them to enter and share , one thought by sharing the post about the competition was all I wanted but I need them to share the link after entering and they did now so its working fine.

Im running it for 2 weeks will see if I can get a few Twitter followers to share the page and see if that helps.

I will keep this post informed, so far 4 entries and 2 Shares.

    Thanks

    John

  • @johnpristine

This is the challenge that the social media creates. So you only have to be in the right mindset and obtaining the right contents to make it happen and reach the number you want.
