  • I have a FB profile that I started as a hobby site. I no longer participate in the hobby but the profile has grown to almost 1700 friends and averages 10-12 new friends a week. I dont do much with it but it seems a waste to delete. Is 1700 friends the point where I might attract advertisers for this particular hobby? Would love to turn it into something more than a bookmark (especially if it became a revenue stream) but really have no idea where to take it. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Well… If it really is a hobby site that is listed as a personal profile, Facebook may just remove the dilemma for you. They just did to another member of these clubs http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/clubs/facebook/forum/topic/need-help-immediately-facebook-has-disabled-my-personal-page-and-fan-page/
We do not yet know whether this is part of a growing trend – there are a lot of businesses using personal profiles and it is rare but not unheard of for them to get deleted by FB.

  • Then how can I monetize my business site?

  • Thats my <a href="mailto:question@williamgoodhart“>question@williamgoodhart. @abigailgorton thanks for the feedback. Ill keep my fingers crossed.

  • Wow. That didnt turn out. Abigail, thanks. William, thats what I want to know.

  • Thanks for the reply – but I can’t understand what you mean!  Can you say it again so that I understand the question and the answer?

  • Yes, yes.  I just saw someone (somewhere) advertising their ability to create apps for your page that could do that – but you got me: can’t figure it out.  Even when I got Amazon to make me a whatever (partner?  I can’t remember) I could get their code to work on my website.  Do we have to call Zuckerberg?  Or is it that only people under 25 can figure this out?

  • I mean I could NOT get the Amazon code to work on my website.  Sorry!
