1 year, 4 months ago: Currently, I am the Social Media Manager for a non-chain restaurant in PA. I’ve been updating and monitoring their social media outlets for about 6 months and have been doing alright with conversions and growth. Recently, we’ve run into some problems with Facebook.
The account itself was set up by someone else long before I took over the account. This person created a profile page before the business page became more popular and eventually created a business page to accompany the profile page. This has been okay. We’ve been using both for different content posts, the business page more for things to do with the restaurant and the profile page for posts that are outside articles, photos and videos that have to do with other facets of our main target group’s lifestyle.
Now for the problem; as I was searching Facebook for fun, new ideas, I stumbled upon what is now the bane of my existence: a Facebook-created profile of our business and a user created Place. Both have acquired a small following but still a following that is most likely not following the company monitored Facebook pages. I have been directing those that post on the Facebook-created page to our actual page, but am having difficulty moving the ‘likes’ over to our page.
Has anyone run into this problem or have any suggestions as to how I can begin to resolve this?
