Facebook Page (6 posts)

  • Hi All !

I have started managing a Facebook page of Hotels & Resorts,

Please suggest me, what should I do to popularise it.

    Thanks
    Amit

  • Great question! I have been thinking about trying the Facebook 30-day challenge and/or using the “promote” options on FB. But i’ve been hesitant as it costs and I’m not sure how effective it will really be. One of the things I am doing that has been working is makiing sure that FB is on our new website coming out soon, and sending out eblasts to the contacts we have telling them to check out the latest breaking news/offers on FB and putting the link in the email.

I’m certainly NO PRO and these are just attempts to attract people to our FB page. One thing for sure is to make sure your FB page is worth visiting. Kinda like inviting people over to a party and waiting until they arrive to cook and decorate. They won’t stay long enough to find out what you have planned and they probably won’t come back to see what you. Have the page loaded with offers, discounts, great images and information valuable to your ideal audience and even better upcoming events. I wold also.

Just food for thought, you do the dishes (:….I hope others will offer their opinion.

  • Hello @amit-khowala,

    You should define the following:

Location: resorts and hotels where?Audience: look at tourism statistics from that location and define your target marketWIIFM principle: What’s in it for me? As a user, what will you be offering me to become a fan and follow your updates frequently? This will basicaly define your content strategy.

About content:Go for visual content. Become a hotels and resort reviewer, but an honest one. If a hotel is complete sh** be sure you are telling that to your followers. They will appreciate it and you will gain their trust.

Post AMAZING photographs of the surrounding area. From time to time, ask for your audience to share their own photographs from their vacations on that destination. They will do it!

From time to time, ask your audience to invite their friends to become fans. Do not ABUSE! And be thankfull.

Build relationships with restaurant owners and small hotels first. When you have some people into your page, they will be positive about making a contest or something similar for you to expand the page reach even more.

At first you need to test. But always try to define your goals upfront. And be consistent or they won’t come back.

Hope this tips help you improve that page.

    Best,Max.

  • Great suggestions @maximiliano-garcia!
I would also really watch what other hotels are doing that works.  Make a list of hotels that have great pages and either add them to an interest list on your personal profile so you can easily see their updates or if you don’t want to do that, just check out their pages every once in awhile when you need some inspiration.  Here are some that I like:

    http://www.facebook.com/Rydges
    http://www.facebook.com/RenaissanceHotels

I had some others but now I can’t find them.  I’ll post more.  Who else has ideas?

  • Yes! Competitive analysis is a must.

    Thank you @andrea-vahl

@amit-khowala Hope to see how that page starts growing! :)
