Facebook page : Small change; a noteworthy (8 posts)

  • Facebook keeps integrating new features and making new changes time by time. Now i don’t know if the change i noticed is really a change or it was there prior to my notice. What i noticed today is : One of my client’s facebook page timeline shows live status of their shop. I.e. whether it is open or closed at the time of viewing timeline. For example : If shop timing is Mon to Sat 10:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m and i am view its page timeline today (1st may, tuesday) at around 1 p.m. then it means that shop should be open now so considering this fact fb timeline’s about section shows green dot/circle and says “open”. If i visit the page today at around 09:00 p.m. in night or on sunday, it will show shop closed until .
Did anyone noticed this recently or earlier?

  • Yes i saw this as well and think it is really cool specially when using a mobile and you are on the go. Do you know if you see the same info on a mobile?

  • our page has had  this  for  quite a while….and it  stays accurate  too…. im pretty sure its even matching our  time  zone…i dont know about the mobile @moinshaikh

  • @moinshaikh  @bertievg

It’s been in effect for at least a month.  I have the Facebook app for my iPhone, however, it does not show business hours.  Can anyone confirm the business hours not showing with another smartphone?

  • @iamconsulting @bertievg @annfurnivall thanks i have checked it from mobile (non iphone) and it doesn’t show up there.

  • @iamconsulting @moinshaikh This is actually a pity as more and more people using their mobiles search online so i would imagine it will be in place soon.

  • @bertievg right greunen, hope your wish come true soon (re. places)

  • @bertievg

I really think that over the next year we’ll start seeing a major change in mobile, not only for Facebook but for internet marketing in general.
