One of my friend came to me recently with a problem. The problem is : His recently created facebook page does not show up in the facebook search box. Earlier i thought it could take upto 24-48 hours but now that it has been almost 5 days, still no progress. I have checked his page’s setting and have found nothing that could stop page from appearing in the search box. Any idea? Has anyone faced such situation and has successfully solved it?Thanks,

I had a client with the same problem. It was a categorisation problem. Maybe your friend should try changing the category of their page to “Books & Magazines > Magazine” instead of Media/News/Publishing??Cheers, Martyn

@moinshaikh I have that problem on one page occasionally. I have to go to the “See More Results” and click through to get to the page. I have not figured out why this happens and it is only occasional. I would be curious to know if Martyn’s suggestion helps you!

Many pages don’t show up in the search results, @moinshaikh – the search is terrible. You can also report that your page isn’t showing up here: http://www.facebook.com/help/issues/pages I don’t know how much good that does but it’s worth a shot if it doesn’t come up!

I was about to report it to officials but thought that should go for some advise and words of experience from experts like you and even have got advise i rather wait for at least a day after following martyn’s suggestion and would approach fb as per your advise. I am not sure if the same holds true for normal pages but for an “App Profile Page” Facebook says this:
“When your App reaches 10 monthly active users it will be automatically queued to be included in the search index the next time we rebuild our search index (we rebuild every 2-4 weeks). After the index is rebuilt your app will be discoverable via Search.”
