Facebook Page – email invite (5 posts)

    The Facebook Page has an option to email an invite to your contact list for them to look at your Page. When I use this with Yahoo, the only option I see is Preview Invitation, but it appears that the emails are not being sent. Any suggestions? Thanks.

    There are so many problems with this e-mail your contacts feature that I really don’t recommend people use it.  It’s better to send and e-mail to your contacts with a link to your page.  Sometimes what has happened is that 5-6 e-mails go out to all your contacts and just make people mad.  Plus you may not want to e-mail every single contact you have ever known – better to target the list a little more!

    @stanrobinson Here’s one way to think outside the box. People tend to think that they have to promote their Facebook page from withing Facebook. That’s box thinking, and it’s really hard to do. 

    Instead, use your existing communication tools to reach the people who already have a business relationship with you, and tell them about your Facebook page.

    I agree with @charlene-kingston- Facebook is full of bugs when it comes down to this sort of functionalities, but it’s hard to be mad at that, considering that it’s free & all.

    I would recommend the same as Charlene did above, plus going even further. Think of all the communications coming out, and see how you can tastefully integrate the plug. Essentially, I’m talking about listing your social networking information on Everything you can appropriately use. Are you linking in all your email signatures? Are All of your other social channels displaying the FB info & link – at the top? How about other posts & comments that you make?
