Facebook Official Page help (11 posts)

  • Hi guys, I’m totally new to this so hope I’m getting it right. I’ve created a Facebook page for my new business venture however I am advised this is not an Official Facebook page as you cant see it if you are not logged into Facebook?  I simply created it under my personal profile and not quite sure what I am doing wrong. Any ideas?  http://www.facebook.com/Tailoredearth  Many thanks in advance!!

  • Good Morning Victoria-It is against Facebook ‘rules’ to have a business page under a personal account and you can get it pulled at anytime.  It is easy to set up a business page, just go to any fan page that you already like and on the top right hand corner there is a button that says create a page, click on that and away you go!

  • Thanks guys, if I create a new page now though will I loose the contacts and posts I have received already? Many thanks

  • Hiya , I created a page the way you said and its just made another page under my private account, is that ok ? Is that how everyone else has their fanpage?

  • Thanks Cora, I was going to thank & `like`your facebook page but I`ve to figure out how to do THAT next! Anyway, I`d publicly like to thank you on here too

  • Sure ianwhiteside, np. For the others here, the answer is yes, this correct. Fan Pages show under private/personal accounts when that person is an Administrator for the Fan Page.
And u can still Like my Page at http://www.facebook.com/inonit :-) Thanks

  • Hiya Cora, it might be my computer or something but I clicked on the link to like your page and it took me to a `private`page where I didn`t see any like button. Do you want to check your link and let me know?

  • @tailoredearth

Very odd. It does appear to be a page (there’s a like button and all) but you’re right. I can’t get to it when I’m not logged in.

This is more of a Facebook specific question, so I’m moving it to that forum.

Maybe they can help you out!

  • @tailoredearth ~ your page is exactly what it’s supposed to be.  I don’t know why or when, but I know that when I created my business pages, they were set up just like yours is.  No one could see them if they weren’t logged into Facebook.  I assumed it’s still the same, but don’t know for sure since I’m always logged into that darn site, LOL!

However, it looks like it was created correctly (through the creat a oage link).  It could just be that they don’t show if they’re not connected to a PLACE?  Just a guess.  When mine were first created, they didn’t get connected to their place pages for a while (heck, it took FB 8 months to connect one of them).  Do you have a physical location?

  • Thanks Rich, I thought that as soon as I posted that maybe I was in the wrong forum!! Newby!!

  • Hi Dedi, do you mean as in actually where I am? As in I live in Leeds, Yorkshire? Should I add that? Sorry still getting to grips with it all!! :-)
