Facebook Offers – would appreciate some help (6 posts)

  • Hey all!

I recently stumbled across onto something called Offers on my FB page. Can anybody give me some input on that? I’ve read about it but it is still a bit blurry… what are redemptions and claims.

And what exactly is promoting posts? How does it work?

  • @kund-sovatai

I can only answer part of what you’re asking – that is the promoting posts.

You may have noticed that you’re getting less interaction and exposure on your brand pages. Facebook has changed the rules over what appears in the news feed, and if people aren’t clicking, commenting, sharing or interacting on your posts then it appears less frequently in their newsfeed.

The promoted post works on a fee basis. You pay to promote your posts and it guarantees that everyone of your subscribers will see your posts. They’ll probably also get an alert.

Get onto it right now because it’s still in a testing phase and it appears to be producing viral results well beyond that of what you used to get from the 100% exposure, before they introduced the algorithm.

  • I have a post on Facebook Offers here: http://andreavahl.com/facebook/how-and-why-to-use-facebook-offers.php
    @kund-szovatai

And I think they are a great tool to use if you have something special you want to promote and you want to give a good discount.  I think Facebook Offers work really well in conjunction with promoted posts.  Where you pay to push that special deal into the News Feed of your Fans.

Here’s another article on Promoted Posts that may help:  http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/facebook-promoted-posts/

  • Hello,
@andrea-vahl I’ve read your post, before i’ve written my question here. The problem is that i still don’t have a clear view on what exactly is redempting or claiming and before I start experimenting I would really want to know exactly what’s happening. Especially since I am working in a geographical region that has some very interesting and specific laws (usually what works fine everywhere else doesn’t work here and vica versa).
Unfortunately I’ve been working all day long, this time of year, the period before christmas is really a mess, but i’ll read it again, more in depth and if it’s ok with you I might just ask you in a private message a couple of specific questions if you don’t mind.

    Thanks!

  • No problem @kund-szovatai  feel free to follow up with questions.  One note on the claims.  People can “claim” the offer which means they sign up to get it delivered to their e-mail but many don’t actually take the next step and redeem the offer – by taking it into the store or purchasing it on your site.

Then the problem is you don’t get any addresses or names of anyone who has actually claimed the offer so you can’t remind them or ping them at all.  Kind of frustrating in that way!

Hope that helps clear it up a bit!

  • So let’s make it clear… I create an offer on FB. Then, a user who has liked my page will go and claim the offer, which means he/she will get the info (coupon or smth) in their inbox. Then, the user will have to go online to my site or into the store to actually buy the product in question, thus redeeming the offer. Right?

You said that i won’t get the e-mail address of the claims. Is there any possibility to track at least how many claimed the product if I can’t see who?
