Facebook might unveil timeline for pages? (7 posts)

  • Saw this post – anyone got any insider information?  or could it just be hype to stir up even more publicity?  What are your thoughts?http://www.allfacebook.com/facebook-timeline-pages-2012-01?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+allfacebook+%28Facebook+Blog%29&utm_content=Google+Reader

  • @mediamenowJacki,

I published a post (with tutorial links) on my blog about how Facebook Timeline is becoming mandatory for all personal profiles, and I speculated that Facebook will be rolling Timeline for Pages out soon (that’s been their modus operandi with every major rollout).

It certainly wouldn’t surprise me. I must say, the February 29 thing is a creative publicity stunt.

  • @mediamenow @laurachristianson, i also read on allfacebook about timeline being launched for pages but before doing this they will surely be implementing timeline on profiles.

  • If this is true and Facebook role out Timeline for brand pages, which I think would be a good thing, I can see this taking away the need for a custom welcome tab. To my mind, all you would need would be an attractive graphic on your Timeline that encourages people to click the like button! Everyone would just land on your Wall and be able to see all the ‘action’ at a glance.

I would be very interested in your thoughts on this?

  • I agree with @chatmarketing that the welcome tab may be going away unless they make it like a welcome page?  It will open the door for some truly creative graphics though!

  • Also – based on this potential timeline coming to pages, do we still do welcome tabs for new clients or hold back to see what’s to come?  What are your thoughts?

  • @chatmarketing I agree with you that if Timeline is coming for brand pages then we would have a ALL THE TIME banner of our business in shape of cover photo where we can put all Call to Action Stuff in shape of image.

@mediamenow i don’t think so that Welcome pages are going away as it has its own importance but only if designed creatively and with a proper welcome pages. Welcome pages are giving alot of options to small businesses even we can have mini website within facebook as a Welcome page where we can do everything which we do on our website.

Even i have made many mini paypal shops for my clients where they are selling their products if they will have Cover Photo with Timeline then they can get more space to advertise their products which can increase their sales.

    What are your thoughts?
