Facebook games for a contest (12 posts)

  • Hey folks,

Client (cell phone retailer) wants to offer a game on his Facebook page (anything…space invaders, trivia (if general, no US pop. culture) frogger, pac-man, etc… would be fine) and at the end of the month give phones to the top 3 scores. If there could be some viral coefficient (i.e. share for an extra 100 points) that would be all the better.

Any ideas on how this could happen on the cheap? Thanks in advance.

  • What is your budget? My company also develop facebook apps and if you would be interested you can contact me on PM.

But if you want a cheapest way you should contact India ;)

  • @leopoldpanovi I’m in India! lol

If it were a stateside client a custom app would work, but for the Indian market I need something free, on the cheap cheap, or an inexpensive license arrangement.

  • @robpeck You should beware of Facebook’s rules about contests, if you’re not.

Mari Smith wrote an article on this where she also mentions some apps you can use to help with this: http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/facebook-promotions-what-you-need-to-know/

Some of those apps are free.

  • @phil-mershon Thanks! Fantastic info in there.

  • @phil-mershon

Great info, Phil, but from some of the comments, still too confusing to risk.

  • If you are looking for someone to build such an app for you i would try freelancer. You will find lots of people with experience but it just depends how ‘cheap’ you are talking.

  • Rob,
We just launched a Scratch Off promotion app Demo: https://www.facebook.com/bleapp/app_160116404051502

This would be cheaper than a custom app!

  • I’ve been reading through this thread and you may find all of your answers with this company having run 60,000 audited promos..  and still chugging.

    http://www.easypromosapp.com

They have 3 plans to fit all budgets and requirements – basic, premium and white label

I’d say the best agency platform going.

    Have a look.

  • @jimoborny – love the scratch off app, but too pricey for me. @easypromos – what is different with Easy Promos than, say Wildfire? Curious.

  • @jimoborny I didn’t think you could require a like to have readers do something – so I asked Mrs. Google and she said it was OK. My second learning experience for the day.

  • @michellefontaine

    Main differences:
Objective:1. In Easypromos the first promotion is free.2. In Easypromos price is fixed regardless the duration of the promotion.3. Easypromos is integrated with the FB mobile platform. (I don’t know for sure if Wildfire is integrated too, sorry)4. Full multi-language and multi-country.
Subjective:1. Easypromos has better core functionalities: user flow, anti-fraud measures.2. Easypromos is more simple and easy to set-up.3. We have better customer service. :-)
I’ve seen their system and it is pretty on the inside, Ruby on Rails, and you as a client pay significantly higher price. Therefore I will say our payback starts in a really nice zone for our clients.
My recommendation Try both of them and choose the one that better fits your needs.
Are you running Facebook Promos?  Happy to discuss.
