Am I going crazy or did I used to be able to send a message to anyone who liked by fanpage from my fanpage.Now the message option only comes up when I am in my personal profile.
Is this something new? Or have I missed something.

@localbusinessco Hello Pauline, I don’t think you could ever send a message to anyone who liked your fan page. That can only be done from a personal profile.

@localbusinessco, you can send messages to your friends from your personal profile or you can send messages group members if you have a Facebook Group.
from facebook page you can just send an update to all fans about any of your product/services. No messaging available for fans.

@pacey @ijazrafi few weeks ago there was news that’s facebook is testing a new thing – messages for pages. I think that mashable also have an article about this.
Maybe @localbusinessco was in testing group and he can send messages

@Ian I could not agree more, although it would be a great tool for marketing. Maybe if they added an opt-in option, it would seem less intrusive.

@localbusinessco fb page never allowed to send message so you didn’t do anything wrong! agree with @pacey on if pages are allowed to send message, users (including you and me) would really get crying to those poured messages. @paigebrockmyre imagine if you’ve liked not much but only 25-30 pages and what if each of that page admin sends minimum 2 messages per day to you, your inbox could jammed with 50-60 msgs everyday. Tell me honestly, do you read all the news feeds or news updates everyday from all your pages you have liked?
