facebook drop reaction… (12 posts)

  • my  friend  with a fabulous  facebook page with  tons of  organic  followers…told me  yesterday that her   worker  told her  their posts  were  tanking…. one  got so  few  views  she   deleted it….lol….the number  was  so low it embarrassed  her…

she  doesnt keep up at all on   facebook  news at all…  so  she was  glad to hear  from  me that it wasnt  just her….

  • It’s been quite a wide-spread topic lately, @annfurnivall – No one can see the number of views a post gets except for the admin.  So I think there is no reason to delete a post.  People can see the LIkes, Shares, and Comments on a post and sometimes people don’t like when they ask a question and no one comments but if you look at any page, you’ll see a variety of interaction.  I don’t think it’s anything to be embarrassed about.

  • she  was  tho…she  thought she had  made a terrible post and no one  was interested in it..she probably  didnt know  no one else  could see the results….she  doesnt  read up on this  stuff…but she has a great page  …with about  2000  fans, one of  her workers does  the work………….

..but  dang….they  cant  view it if it isnt there….

  • In general, my train of thought is leaning more and more toward I’m going to wait until Facebook decides who it wants to be when it grows up…really like it for what it was designed for, but…. The daily reality is that most of us really do have things to do other than learning/figuring out Facebook’s newest thing. Just sayin’…

  • @stonepeople im with you, i want  fb  to  be   its original idea….but  i cant   be passive about  whats going on right now …for me  facebook was  working   and  i was connecting  with  around  1000  organic  fans   …mostly  real customers…several times a week….that is a pretty  cool  tool   for our  business… and now its al diffferent…  i dont  quite  know  what  is my  smartest path….  ….

a lot  seems to  be  messy and up in the air right  now  so im   hoping  for   some   more clarity…and  more  field  reports…and maybe   facebook   rethinking  this new  way to block our   fans from  seeing us…….

.for  example   im  hearing conflicting  reports,,,,like    some promoted posts  arent even working well right now….

  • Hey everyone! I actually wrote a post on this topic recently, rounding up all the recent rumors regarding the change in EdgeRank.  Here’s the link to the post:

    http://blog.getpostrocket.com/2012/10/whats-going-on-with-your-facebook-page-reach-postrockets-take/

  • i read your post  last week…..glad to see you on  here….

@itsmikemags why are my picture posts going down and my   word posts  not.????….   out of  3600 fans i usually  reach over  1000 with  a majority of my posts….and i  use  pictures on almost every one….  ….now  with pictures my reach is    rarely over 500….and my word only posts about  1000…

im a local page  with  tons of   face to face  fans….i would  really llove to hear  your   view of  MY  PICTURE  situation…. thanks…

but my organic  reach is about   normal…..

  • It is a must to keep the information on your page fresh. I have noticed an increase in different types of advertising on Facebook pages as of lately. If you want success in this area it is a must to monitor your material daily.

If you see that something is starting to slide just make adjustments until you receive the desired results. Trends change overnight.

  • @annfurnivall

Ann, it is my belief that FB decreased the edgerank of photo posts (and link posts)

  •   @jenettapenner ….and then    edgerank affects reach…that  sure sounds right to me…..   i get that  , so now  we just  need to   figure out the  best way to  get our  pictures and links   back to more of   our  fans pages…….

i wish  more of the  bloggers and  experts   were working on this…my  daughter has a  great page with as many   fans as me and she is also   wondering what  to do…has  facebook   made anymore  statements on this?

@klg007 i dont think  the situation   has to do with freshness….or  good  content….my  customers love pictures…and  my  pictures , very much like  what that used to be popular a few weeks  ago  have tanked  in their  reach  ….as ive  saID …  PROBABLY TOO MANY TIMES..LOL

  • I have a bit of a theory that it may be about “cleaning” up the newsfeed.. status update take up less space..
    @annfurnivall

  • ti thought of  that too….what a horrible idea… hurting our best  thing  to make a bit more    cyber space….
