Facebook Comments Plugin (3 posts)

  • If I install a Facebook Comments plug in on an existing blog, will it wipe out all existing “regular/old” comments? On Blogger, TypePad, WordPress.

Second question regarding the Comments Plugin, I have seen many applications and instructions on installing a FB Comments plugin…is there one you would recommend over the other? I primarily work with Blogger and TypePad users, where I know WordPress has many “plugins” available.  So if you can recommend those that work on Blogger and TypePad as well.

Thank you so much in advance :D Heather

  • Great question @blogsbyheather!  I have not tried the different pre-built Facebook comment plugins.  You could always use the straight code:  http://developers.facebook.com/blog/post/472/

I have not been able to find out if the old comments will be wiped out.  I would hope not but I can’t find the real answer.  Mari Smith has a good post on it here:  http://www.marismith.com/facebook-comments-box-social-plugin-upgrades/

Anyone else have experience with the Facebook Comments plugin?

  • Thanks Andrea!I will check out those links!

Also, I guess I could just do it on a test blog to experiment before testing on my live blog(s). LOL. I’ll give it a whirl. But will keep checking here to see if anyone else comments as well.

    Heather :D
