Facebook business page serious issue (6 posts)

  • Hi all

I’m seeking your friendly advice on an issue which really spoils my day. My business Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/kimidartours) has been really one of the most outstanding pages in travel & tourism market in Egypt along the past 2 years.

Recently, I witness a very strange phenomenon which I cannot understand or interpret; my fans counter is – all of a sudden – going down in a very strange way which I have never seen; I have average 15-20 “Unlikes” per day. Although my strategy – which has always incurred very good interaction and very good reputation – is still the same.

I’ve even doubted that it may be hacked or something like this or someone is manipulating my page. Do you have an idea about incident like this?

     I really appreciate your help.

  • @adel-taha Interesting issue!  I don’t know if this could possibly be related but Facebook is removing fake accounts.   http://www.cnn.com/2012/08/02/tech/social-media/facebook-fake-accounts/index.html  I saw one article somewhere that said there were a number of these accounts in Egypt.

I don’t know if it’s possible that somehow these accounts may have also liked your Page and are now being deleted?  One thing I noticed specifically on your page is that for the size, it doesn’t have a lot of interaction in general.  It could be possible that these accounts weren’t real people – not sure!

  • yeah, this change that  @andrea-vahl mentions shows that some the fun changes in FB – changes made to give a better service – are making marketers freak out. This and the change in how they calculate reach will keep marketers on their toes.

  • @adel-taha I agree with @andrea-vahl. Maybe try one engaging fill in a blank post to see, whether you get a better engagement. That ones usually work the best for me, but not all of the posts can be the same. •  @andrea-vahl, @Mac ,  @Milan Steskal:

Thank you so much really for your help; however, I still feel hungry for more and more experience from you all :-)

  • @adel-taha what @andrea-vahl said about facebook deleting fake pages is true, and it could also be the reason the engagement has dropped.

I have also had a look at the link @milan-steskal shared; it’s very informative. You need to spice things up on your page. Apart from posting information about places to go on vacation, you can find out what your fans have been up to.
If you need to manual that will help you sort things like this out, let me know.
