Facebook Business Cards?! (20 posts)

  • Just read through this http://mashable.com/2012/01/05/facebook-moo-business-cards/?WT.mc_id=obinsite and I am both surprised and intrigued. It is an interesting way to pull Facebook information to a tangible item.

What do all of you think about this integration?

  • @alexandrabriggs I think it’s a great idea!MOO was great to be the first who found it out. And Facebook did it well, that just after MOO creating such cards, FB teamed up with them, and became a sponsor. It was a great fast move.

    Hey Alexandra.

    Thanks for the reminder!

I saw this the other day, but when I went to Moo it said come back again.

This morning, thanks to your reminder, I clicked through the links and got my order placed.

    50 cards=FREE
    Shipping=FREE

    Thanks again!

  • @warrenveach Are you using the cards to promote yourself or your business? I was leaning away from doing the cards since any time I network I use my work business cards.

  • @alexandrabriggs

I used the screenshot they pulled from my personal timeline, but used my business phone and info.

Also, on the back, I entered 5 lines of text:

    1. My Web Address
    2. Benefits Highlights of our products
    3. “Business Plans also available”
    4. “Please call or visit our website for additional info”.
    5. My favorite Einstein quote, “Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value”.

By playing with it a bit, I got a nice little promo item.

I have regular business cards and don’t know when I’ll really use these, but I guess they will make a good substitute if I get caught without.

And, there are some networking groups that I sometimes attend where there are quite a few business people that I have met through facebook, and that card would be a cool reminder of just where they know me from.

    Besides, they are free. :-)

  • Someone in my office actually has some of these they were giving away free packs to users when they first announced it :)

  • Ignore my last post i see you can still get freebies :D

  • @pacey

If I remember correctly, the offer was good for the first 200,000 to apply for the cards.

  • @warrenveach well i have ordered mine anyway lol

  • @pacey

Me too! At first, I thought they’d be very “basic”.

However, after putting mine together, I started playing with the editing feature and found that I could make a pretty nifty promo item including name, phone, email, business url and a little ad copy.

I’m looking forward to getting mine and discovering how to best use them.

  • @warrenveach i actually have no use for business cards at least not right now. Just couldn’t let a freebie slip by :P

  • @pacey

You could visit a local arcade and hand them out saying, “Have a free game on me on my website”.

    Just a thought.

  • I just ordered mine and they are super easy to change and configure!  It takes the images from your profile images so have ones you want uploaded in your profile area.

  • @andrea-vahl @alexandrabriggs Andrea, just a heads up :-) there is already a thread started on this very topic: http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/clubs/facebook/forum/topic/facebook-business-cards/

    Cheers,
    Frederic

  • @alexandrabriggs This looks amazing! Facebook continues to raise the bar! I think this is a terrific idea!

  • Yeah, I think this is a pretty cool talking piece and you could do a lot with these, personally and for clients. I just need to sit down and be creative to make some! :)

  • Love this! Just made mine, and I’ve used Moo cards with my About.Me site and love them! Any free Moo products make me happy!

  • @gabriellamireles

I’d never heard of Moo until I read this thread, and now, I have About.me to check out.

    Always something new out there!

  • This is a great site. I think I will get cards made for my new Facebook page Restaurant Chatter. Thanks for the tip!

  • I got my cards in yesterday’s mail, and I have to say, very nice!

They came on much better card stock than I anticipated, which give them a nice feel and they look good too.

Best promo I have participated in for quite a while.
