Facebook apps to promote business (13 posts)

Topic tags: Facebook App
  • Hello all,
Does anybody use Facebook apps to promote your business? Is it worth to spend money on developing such applications and integrating them to Facebook pages? How much does it cost? Share your experience, please!

  • Hi Andrew, what type of apps are you looking to integrate and which industry are you working with?

  • Hi Rick,I`m not looking for any particular application now. I`m just wondering if anybody uses such apps like contests, quizzez, etc. to promote facebook pages and how successful they are…:)

  • I find that many of the existing apps work well for integrating with your business page, @andreysolovey (especially for quizzes or contests).  But I know some people do want more flexibility and want to do something in particular so they have their own app developed.

Has anyone developed their own app?

  • Hi Andrea,As for me I haven`t any experience in developing own apps for my facebook pages yet. But would you name some existing applications that you had used?

  • @andreysolovey Andrea has used a LOT! (she co-wrote the 600 page book with me…) AND she wrote the Chapter on creating your own applications — so she knows this stuff. You can check out WooBox to start off  http://woobox.com/

  • Thank you for sharing, Phyllis. It looks nice, I will try

  • +1 for Woobox. I love the Static HTML app from them. It has everything: favicon, analytics, fan gate feature.

Also, i use http://www.booshaka.com (to engage and reward the most active fans) and Involver for their good-looking Twitter and Youtube tabs.

  • Yes. I use booshaka also. I love it. It really helps.

  • I haven’t used it myself but I know people wh olike North Social and Wildfire for contest apps.  Involver has one or two apps you can use for free – I think 2 per page….

  • We are app developers.  The thing that many businesses do not understand is that they can add just about any functionality to their Facebook page through adding a custom app.  Actually it goes even further if you expand your horizons.  For example, we created a custom app for a manufacturer.  They give the app to all of their dealers to add to their pages.  We even set it up so that they can control who can install the app.  Most companies just think in terms of their Facebook page when they should be thinking of their: dealers, agents, resellers, etc.

  • Please check out SocialStage.com. With it, you turn your FB page into a site in any way you want. Free to try too. Let me know what you think.

Also you can get a quick preview of how the app’s being used in this article: http://bit.ly/s2dNyR

  • Thanks everyone for these great suggestions.
