    I am new to Facebook Marketing but have a few pages I’ve been managing for a while, using the Hosted iFrame app for simple custom pages. I’m trying to research what services are best for taking custom pages to the next level with apps, fan-gating, contests, etc. Here’s my two biggest questions so far -

    1) I THINK I need to subscribe to a service like Lujure, Fan Page Engine, Pagemodo, North Social, etc, but I’m having trouble deciding which is best for me. Also, for all of these types of services don’t I lose any custom pages I’ve created if I decide to cancel and use a different service? If so, is there a way around this?

    2) Along with question 1, I need a good service/app to do a contest for a pizza shop. We’re going to give away various prizes in exchange for contact info (email and mobile #) to build a direct marketing funnel for them to send out coupons and promotions. Any suggestions for a service that meets all of my needs?

    Hi Ross, I think you can use more apps simultaneously, but you will lose the tabs if you cancel the account. All apps you’ve mentioned should have trial, so you can try them first. I would personally recommend you the NorthSocial sweepstakes, OR:

    There are a lot of different things you can do with a Page, @ross-deitrich  when you add apps.  Some apps are free and some are paid and then others require a monthly subscription.  I usually try and figure out what I think would be fun to add without costing money and then what looks like a tool that I really need and it may cost money.  

    Here are a couple articles that I wrote that talk about different Apps you can add.  The Custom apps are ones where you can create all kinds of things within a tab and then the other apps are more “set” and only do one kind of thing.  Hope that helps!
    Some of these are a bit older but the idea is still the same – now it’s just the tabs under the cover photo rather than the links on the side.

    I have used FanPage Engine and Lujure (soon to be Heyo).  Also looked at 5Minute Fan Page but they seem to have a lot of dashboard issues and the service appears to be non existent judging from the amount of complaints on their FB Page.

    My personal preference is Lujure because I have the flexibility to change things quickly, add multiple tabs, Iframes, Contests, mobile features and tons of other stuff.

    I also really like Revew Engine by Nick Unsworth for creating a testimonial/review area for my fans & customers.

    I am just starting a contest for a client so once it’s done (if you’re interested), I’ll share some results with you.

    You can custom custom build it yourself with drag n drop dashboard in Lujure or they also have a pre-build contest widget with a count-down timer already embedded.
