I have a few questions for people who have done email newsletters.

I am getting ready to launch an email marketing campaign to current customers and facebook “likers” through Constant Contact.  I am told you can put a “Join My Mailing List” button on my facebook page to collect more email addresses. 

My first question is, did you have people actually sign up from your facebook page?

Second, did you offer something in return for people signing up?

Third, did you use Constant Contact for your newsletter?  If so, did you find their analytics helpful?

Lastly, what issues did you run into and what would you do differently?

@michellefontaine mailchimp is the best I used for small list.

The Mailchimp Facebook App is better and more customize-able than the Constant Contact one.   http://apps.facebook.com/mailchimp/?ref=ts
