Facebook Ads…Legal Ramifications??? (3 posts)

Topic tags: f
  • Since Facebook is global, and I know there are rules and guidelines from Facebook itself, but has anyone heard of anything with Facebook Ads and running into legal issues?

If we see ads that we question if they are ‘true’ is there anything we can do or say?

    Thanks-Charlyn

  • Of course, like most things in this world, Charlyn the laws of the land apply to Facebook. No exemptions available; purely for it. As well, it’s pretty clear that Facebook itself can make no inordinately unjust directives. If you know of copryright guidelines, as well as fair conduct rules you are probably alright. By the same token any adds or posts that are offensive or patently illegal can be flagged and reported to moderating Facebook persons. They even direct you to report abuse, if I am not mistaken. Enjoy your computing.

  • I haven’t heard of any legal implications, @charlynshelton-socialmediainterpreter  A team of reviewers is supposed to be reviewing the ads and checking them against these guidelines:   http://www.facebook.com/ad_guidelines.php  But I’ve seen more things slip through lately.  MLM, redirects, all caps – those are minor infringements so I don’t know what happens when there is something more major.
