I have just set up my first facebook ad campaign, it was a bit rushed as I had a $100 facebook ad coupon that expired on 31st december.

Any advice much appreciated.

@grantmacdonald Make sure you think through your target market and fill in that section in the ad area to reach your market.

After a bit of trial and error I have found out the following which you may find useful.

Have a clear call to action.  People respond to be given a bit of direction
Give people a reason to click, RSVP to an event, entry into a competition etc
Experiment with targeting, I find interest based works well.
Images of people work better than logos

@grantmacdonald I had great success with a Facebook ad this last month. Only had to run it a few days. So many shared with their Facebook friends, with this ad campaign, that my page received 85 likes on a $30.00 budget, and I was paying over $1.00 per click.  

I have to say that I agree with @andrea-vahl regarding a call to action. My first ad didn’t have a clear call to action, and I only received a few likes as a result.
