Please forgive me for starting a new thread on an already existing thread “Facebook ad” because my post below hasn’t received Andrea’s response after 4 days: 

“ @andrea-vahl, thank you very much for sharing the link to your fabulous eBook. I devoured it the instant i downloaded it. I’m about to start an ad campaign for my 2 pages and i would need your advice on the following questions:

1. I’m promoting a membership program for building an online business and when i input “Making money online” or ” Earn money online” in the Precise Interest box, a pop-up window appears to let me select the relevant interest. If i select either one or both, i noticed the estimated reach is only less than 20. But if i were to type in the exact interest and NOT select the same option from the pop-up window, i’ll get a very much higher reach. My question is why should there be a big difference in the estimated reach figure between the typed interest and theselected interest as both interests are exactly the same? 
2. Where can i select the option for the duration of my ad campaign as i can’t find any option in facebook ad page? 
3. As for the “Connections on Facebook”, may i know what’s the difference between “Anyone” and ” Only people who are not fans of my page” ? To me, both options are the same.  
Any help from anyone is welcome too. Thanks and looking forward to some good advice.”

@louisteoh That sounds strange.  One thing is that I don’t have the same options anymore.  I have Precise Interests and Broad Categories very separate now – not like in the e-book I wrote.  They are rolling some changes out to Facebook Ads and I’m wondering if that might be one of the problems.  But when I type Earn Money Online, I only get the option to enter a Precise Interest (no hashtag that is a more broad topic) and when I select that I have a target audience of 20,000 in the US.  

As far as connections, you want to select people who aren’t fans of your Page if you don’t want your ad to show to your Fans.  I like keeping it set to Anyone so you can have another way to get in front of your Fans unless your ad is designed to just get people to Like your Page.
