Exporting Facebook email address’s (7 posts)

Topic tags: email export, followers
  • Hello Friends, This will be my very first post on SME! So a little patience and help please. My thought is this… I currently have about 1400 Facebook friends on my personal page..Although I have sent request to all those friends to like my business page I currently have aprox 624 likes on it.As you know Facebook won’t allow me to make this request a second time. So here’s what I am wanting to know… Is it possible to export all my friends email address’s into a folder where I can again ask for their LIKE ? Or just have them on file so I can send them news about my business? I think I can cut and paste this email addresses but that would be painfully slow!!! You input is appreciated.Thank you,Andy

  • @andy-dickey I have not found a way to export all of the email addresses for the personal friends from Facebook. @Andrea-Vahl have you?

Also, you would not be able to email them regularly news unless they have formally opted-in for email communications from you to be in accordance with CAN-SPAM

  • Thanks for the information. I haven’t came across anything that says other wise either .

  • Hi @andy-dickey, I don’t think it’s possible to do that (i.e. Export email addresses). If you are looking to promote your page to your friends, you can share your posts from your page to your personal profile (But keep this on a minimal scale, and also share posts that will build engagement).

Avoid sharing stuff “Hey come like my page”, most of your friends will ignore it. Looking at your business, I see you’re in the food niche. You can post an image of your latest dish on your page and then send that to your profile; then track the reaction… use lines like “Hey guys, here’s what I’m having for breakfast/lunch/dinner, what are you having?”

The essence of doing that is to let your friends know about your business in a non pushy way (You can do this once a week). I have had friends like my page this way, even though it’s not the most effective way of building up my fan base.

  • Thank you for the new suggestions.. I’ll start doing this now! best wishes,Andy

  • Yes everyone is correct @andy-dickey there is no way to do this.  But you do want to focus on getting your fans over to your e-mail list.  My favorite ways to do this is to offer great free content (a free report, a webinar, etc) and post the link where people can go sign up.  I have a sign up form on the sidebar of my website but also as an optin tab on my Facebook page and a separate page on my website.  So I can direct people multiple places to sign up for my free stuff!

  • That’s a great idea Andrea! I will work on putting this in action…Best wishes,Andy
