  • Hi,
Does anyone know – could confirm- if Facebook’s Viral Reach Numbers include stories that were created by a Facebook ad? In other words, if someone likes your page via a Facebook ad, does Facebook include these numbers in the Viral Reach? Would much appreciate it if you have an official resource to confirm if this is true or not :) Thanks in advance! – Juan

  • Hi @juanfelix – I also responded to your post on Social Media Examiner’s wall:  http://www.facebook.com/smexaminer/posts/179125428863822
The problem is Facebook doesn’t document its algorithms on how they calculate these numbers.  They are very hard to back up from the average user.  But based on their own definition, I would suspect that if someone Liked a Page or a Post that resulted in their friends seeing that Like, then it factors into the Viral Reach numbers.

  • Thanks Andrea – I agree with you. I think liking a page via Facebook ads is included in the Viral Reach Numbers – as it generates visibility with the friends of these likers. Would be great to have a detailed Facebook Guide on Facebook algorithms :)

  • Yeah :)  Let me know if you come across that guide

  • Sure will! :)
