Anonymous is planning to target Facebook in an attack Jan. 28 — at least that’s what a video uploaded to YouTubeMonday is claiming in the name of the hacker network.
What do you think?

“In the name of the hacker network”? Nah. More like a publicity stunt to feed an emotional high for this particular hacker now that the heightened angst is over.
Shutting down Facebook because Anonymous feels Mark Zuckerberg didn’t respond to SOPA and PIPA fast enough reminds me of the purges in the anti-war movement because some felt others weren’t radical enough.
They had a pyrrhic victory that dissolved into tremendous backlash. Anonymous will achieve the same.

If they were really serious about planning an attack, they would do it, achieve some kind of success, THEN advertise they behind the coup. Announcing a week ahead of time is indeed seeking publicity, so I would not give it too much credibility…

I agree with @fredericgonzalo that the plan of an attack would not be advertised and allow time for fail safes and safety to be put in place “just in case” they would take credit after the “attack” I don’t believe it is credible.
