Domain flagged as spam (3 posts)

  • Hey guys,

Somebody came to me today with a pretty big Facebook issue, and I was stomped a little, I didn’t know what to tell them.

The company is in the MLM industry. 1st thing that came to mind was “Well, that’s the flag right there.” I learned however, that the business is a Legitimate internet MLM company, that’s in the top 1,000 Alexa ranked sites as well. Quite big.

Anyhow… Facebook is essentially blocking the entire domain. It can’t be liked (when clicking ‘Like’ from their home page), none of their blog posts can be liked, commented on, or shared. Facebook also deleted their core Group as well.

I’d usually tell them a redirect might solve the issue, but they’ve tried url cloaking and redirecting and nothing has worked.

These folks are reliable folks, and it sucks seeing them stuck like this. Please let me know if you are aware of any solutions, or if you know somebody at Facebook that could help guide them in the right direction. The best email address you can reach me at is alex@digitalbrandgroup.com

    Thanks ya’ll (wave)
    ~ Alexandra :)

  • Facebook is usually good about unblocking if there was a mistake. Your recommendations – URL cloaking and redirecting – make it sound like the flag is right. Anyone that tries to trick FB is making a mistake.

Alexa top 1000 means that the site generate a lot of traffic. Porn sites are in the Alexa top 100 and they probably have a hard time getting their content on FB as well.

  • Thanks @richardmclaughlin
