Does anyone have an idea how to create photo strip in FB? (25 posts)

  • I’m sure many of you guys have seen facebook photo strip where in some pages, an album at the page top side remains in same order forever(facebook pics in top side of profile used to change order on every browser refresh). Like Secret‘s facebook page. My question here is, does anyone knows how to make this page profile photo album strip and keep it in same order always? I came to know about facebook photostrip app but its now not working :(

  • There are a couple of options…www.fbanners.comwww.picscatter.com

With Timeline tho’ you will now use a custom cover…the photo strips will only be available on Fan Pages….with pic scatter you can customize it to be your brand. I hope this helps!Happy New Year!

  • Good suggestion. Also, this is a very Google-able task, if you know what I mean.

Important to keep in mind… Your strip will populate randomly, so make the pieces interchangeable and not dependent on the order. Also, keep in mind, if you upload a new piece of artwork, it’ll likely affect your photo strip.

HubSpot, among others, offers quite an array of tools for taking advantage of tips, tools and best practices for your FB page, its functionality and appearance.

Another tip: change the default on your FB page so that your “Wall” doesn’t serve as the landing page (that is, if you want visitors to see something else first).

  • You can hide all the pictures except the five you want to show.  You just hover over the picture in the strip until you see the black X and then click on then and choose to hide it.    Otherwise it is my understanding that it shows the most recent 5 pictures.

  • Charlyn – I just used your fbanners site – how to I create one for my fan page?

  • Charlyn – I downloaded them to my computer and then uploaded them to my page, but how do you lock in an order?

  • @deereinhardt you have to untag and retag yourself in them in the order you want – the most recently tagged will be the first on the left. Be aware that if you or someone else tags you in a photo it will appear there, but you can easily hide it by clicking on the small x that will appear in upper right hand corner when you move your mouse over the unwanted image.

As others have noted, with the new Timeline layout, this feature will no longer be available and you’ll have the option to have a large header photo instead.

  • I’ve just recently created a new timeline banner with a college of my likes using photo-pad so I could get it to the right dimensions when its loaded, but like what has been already said that’s on my personal page.

  • @deereinhardt It is not possible to lock in an order for fanpages since it is randomized, but as @linda mentioned- on a personal page it shows them in chronological order of when each photo was tagged.

  • @linda I am using this on my fanpage.  I tried tagging them in reverse order and it just isn’t cooperating.  I set them up in the album and everything.  I think this is something that would be cool for FB to fix for us with brand pages.

  • For a brand page it will always randomize and the Secret page tagged in the first post it doesn’t matter where they randomize to you still get the same point.  You can still make good use of the space even if it is randomized.  Check out my page and you will see how I used it to show what Genres of music I DJ.  But doesn’t matter which way they show up as long as they are all there.

  • @Laura great tip on the Picnik!

  • @laurachristianson Those are great articles Laura. Thanks for posting!

  • @barryfeldman

thanks mate, i googled it many times and found that fb photo strip app was available for sometime, now disabled. Also i wanted a solution that keep the order same so even page reloads it doesn’t mess up things.

I am checking it with hubspot, and will let you know if it gets done or not. Thanks again

  • @ndonelly thanks nourene, but i wanted something that keep the order of photos same even if page reloads, anyway i am trying few experiments, if got through it, will let you know. Thanks

  • @jeremyespinosa, your fb page is just awesome,

  • @laurachristianson thanks laura,

  • @moinshaikh No, the photo strips are still in place. Now, this is provided we’re talking about your page. On your personal profile, yeah, the strip gives way to the banner photo now, I think.

  • @barryfeldman
I know about profile where it is being replaced by timeline photo cover, but am happy to know that strip are still in use and alive, it might be my mistake or something technical snag that did not allowed me to use it, anyway thanks. :)

  • These are great tips all thank youI have been looking into these sorts of things but never seem to have the time.

  • @moinshaikh  I don’t think you can make it static – you used to be able to do this on your personal page when it was a banner- before the timeline cover pictures – but they didn’t give the static option to business pages

  • The photo-strip across the top of your facebook biz page will always display randomly – BUT if you tag each of those photos and do not tag other photos as you upload them to your page then you will keep your original 5 pics in place in the top banner across your page.

If not then as someone else has already said – just click the little x at the top right of any images you do not want to display at the top of your page.

These banner images are a good way to also add clickable links to your website/products/programmes etc too (by adding the http:// url to the image description)

  • if you go to pic scatter, you can upload to your fan page for only $1.95 a year.

With Timeline not going to be available for fan pages for several months, this is a great investment.

  • @moinshaikh Thanks.

@laurachristianson  I like your blog post for  How to Customize the Photo Ribbon on Your Facebook Business Page

I think this is how most businesses should take advantage of the space.
