  • Does anybody knows how to do Custom Tabs like the ones this Fan Page has?

    https://www.facebook.com/plus.size.kiyonna.clothing

Check the tab’s thumbnail: Welcome, Pinterest, Coupon… etc.

    Thanks,Fran.

  • @fjsanz  if you want to do a REAL Pinterest tab then you can find instructions on my blog here.

You can see how it works here

  • Hi @jorgenpoulsen, and thank you for your answer, but no, I don’t want to create a Pinterest tab. I just want to create custom thumbnails, that the ones this page has.

I don’t know what they have done to customize them (check out the others tabs too, they all have the same design). I don’t know if it’s a commercial app, a custom app, a new hidden Facebook feature or what.

  • @fjsanz most of the tabs are just sending the visitor to off-facebook urls. It’s a waste of a click.

I don’t know what they use and I would never do it that way.

This one is a complete waste https://www.facebook.com/plus.size.kiyonna.clothing/app_107611949261673 as there is no clickable link or coupon code.

You can find lots of free apps if you search for Facebook Involver apps or Facebook tradable bites apps.

  • @jorgenpoulsen I’m not interested in the way they manage their Facebook Marketing, I just want to know how can I customize the thumbnails of my tabs. That’s it. I don’t care about that is inside of them, just the custom thumbnail.

If you know at least one app that does this customization, could you tell me which one?

  • @fjsanz  your impolite tone of voice won’t get you anywhere with me.

I have already given you the answers but it seems hard for you to even muster a simple thank you even if the answers the suit you 100%.

    Good luck on this forum.

    Jorgen

  • @jorgenpoulsen wow, sorry Jorgen if I wrote in an impolite way. I’m from Argentina, and I’m learning english… slow, but constant! :)
I didn’t want to be impolite. My bad.

I just wanted to ask you if you know some of those apps, that it’s. But thanks!

  • @fjsanz, click on the apps drop down arrow just right next to the last app you see. Click on the little pencil icon on the right top side of the app that you would like to change. Go to ‘edit settings’, which will open up a pop up box. Where you see ‘change’ next to the custom tab image you can upload a new image. Size of the tab image: 111×74 px. I hope this helps.

  • Hi  @fjsanz

@claudiapoeckl gives you the correct instructions on how to upload your own graphics for your apps, and that there is the key. You can create (or have created) your own graphics to place on these app tabs. I have done the same on my own page using graphics I’ve created for myself. I offer this service to my clients as well, however, I’m still working on getting this new service up onto my website. If you want more info, please feel free to contact me and I’m sure I can help you out.

    Best,

    Heather

  • Hi  @claudiapoeckl  @clusterwebdesign

Thank you both, I’m doing it right now! I saw your page, Heather, and it has what I wanted to do: https://www.facebook.com/ClusterWebDesign

I just did it! Thanks you both, and @jorgenpoulsen too!

  • Just an FYI for anyone setting up tabs…I wasn’t seeing the edit function AT ALL (the pencil icon), and it was making me crazy – then just for fun I added a blank tab to “videos” and the edit button showed up.  You can’t edit a tab that hasn’t been filled yet.  Jeez, I’m glad I cleared up that mystery…

  • Thanks @fayebrogi I did it on my old tabs, so I hadn’t have that problem. Thanks for that information! good to know!

  • Nope – that wasn’t it either…I’m not seeing any of what    @claudiapoeckl  posted.  click on the apps drop down arrow just right next to the last app you see. Click on the little pencil icon on the right top side of the app that you would like to change. Go to ‘edit settings’, which will open up a pop up box. Where you see ‘change’ next to the custom tab image you can upload a new image.
*sigh*  it’s not like I’m new to facebook…

  • @fayebrogi What I did, was:
    1) Click the arrow at the last tab, the one is not complite. Make sense? I’m not a good english speaker :(

    2) Once you have all your tabs displayed (photos, the three Facebook shows by defaults, and the other ones you could have) you will see the pencil.

    3) You click the pencil, and then you see the “Edit Settings” option.

You can’t do the #2 or the #1?

  • @fjsanz Yes, I can bring up all the tabs by clicking on the arrow.  I have Photos, Likes, Events & Video tabs on the top row, plus the partial box.

The second row is blank tabs with a + in the upper right (no pencils).  If I click the + on any of those boxes, it  brings up “add to favorites” which is grayed out, and the option to call the tab “Notes.”  (Still no pencils.)

The only pencils I have are in the tabs I’ve named already, and when I click “Edit Settings” on any of them, I am only given the option to add a video, add an event, etc.

And, yes, you ARE a good English speaker :)

  • @fayebrogi first of all: THANKS FOR THIS: “you ARE a good English speaker “You made my day! hahaha

About your problem… I don’t know what to say! Have you published your timeline, or do you have it in the preview mode? Are you using Facebook as your page (not you as a user)? Have you created those tabs with some app?

  • @fjsanz You’re very welcome, and I mean it!

Yes, I published it already – just switched over to use it as the page with no change…I know I’ll figure it out!  Thanks for your help :)

  • Yes, it’s not hard to add these custom images, @fjsanz  Glad you got help from all the members of the club here!  I also have a post that talks about it here:  http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/7-new-facebook-changes-impacting-businesses/

  • @fayebrogi, indeed, you can only change the image of apps you added yourself by either creating new ones or adding some of the free apps from the market. The images of apps provided by Facebook (like photos, events, videos, notes, likes) cannot be changed unfortunately.
