Creative Engagement Techniques (17 posts)

  • I am always looking for creative ways to post things on my clients FanPages.  I have tried Trivia, Fill in the Blank, Yes or No Questions, etc.  I thought it might be interesting to have some examples posted so other’s can get some ideas and creative juices flowing.

Today I did a simple Yes, No.  Here was the post.

Yes or No? Have you ever visited my website?
I was shocked how many quick responses I got!  I also tried it out on one of my clients pages, and the response was fantastic.
What type of creative posts have you tried?
    Georgia

  • Wow! How cool! I post for a realtor and the posts I get the most response on are the funny. weird house listings and pictures. I think posts with humor get engagement.

  • I haven’t tried this yet but I’ve been toying around with some ideas. I would like to have a way for clients to get little viniettes and presentations of interest to them. It would probably like search page fetching but with poems or images of interest.

  • Always post fun and interesting facts related to the subject of my business and people love it! Did you know…

  • @georgiamccabe well because my 2 year old daughter is apart of the company sometimes I post funny things she’s done including pictures. I figured that sharing a part of myself helps them to get a better idea of who I am and what values my company holds.

  • @georgiamccabe, great! I had done same thing. I asked Have you made any new year resolution or not! And i was surprised to see the response! Most have said they haven’t made any one coz they don’t follow it rest of the year except for few starting days!!! (by the way what about you?)

  • I find responding to other people’s comments and asking them questions almost always engages conversation. Im guessing it’s because asking questions shows the person you are interested and let’s be honest, who doesn’t want to feel interesting :D lol

  • very interesting, but i think one of the best way to create engagement is posting pictures. some coworkers got great engagement and discussions around pictures, better if posted with a line or two of question or funny story.Still good if you post an external link with image, so that you got better result in terms of referral traffic

  • interesting and this just inspired me to update my status with:

did you get some naff clothing this season?  Why not post up an image and anything I find really bad or makes me laugh I may send a little pressie to.

we are a clothing site so tried to keep it relevant, lets see if it gets any interaction

  • Has anyone noticed if posting video creates more comments or likes?

  • @kathyweir I have not posted too many video’s.  If I have they have been funny ones and yes those do get a lot of comments.

  • @georgiamccabe I posted “Do you have any specials tonight?” followed by a link connecting fans to a third party promo on a pizzerias wall tonight and instantly received 2 likes and a share… They have 210 fans so I thought It was a great response to the post. Short, simple and represents a question that everyone at one point or time has asked a business. See the connection?

  • I do what @fernandocortes does.  I find short content that is related to what authors need to know and post it. I also find contests and events for them,  If I hear or read anything that they can use I post it.  I love what @georgiamccab had to say.  I am going to try that tomorrow.

    Thanks all for the idea.

  • Pictures and videos work well, and humor is a big plus! One of my clients is a teacher/tutor. I will often post SAT related things like vocabulary words and their meanings…and then add a funny comment. Every evening for his final post I find a fun fact that is educational and amusing. The best responses I get are when people laugh at the fact or the comments I add. Some have told me they actually look forward each day to laughing while they learn something new.

  • @georgiamccabe I find in my experience that asking open ended questions often yields better results and response than yes or no questions. How ever, I know a link or tweet is A LOT more likely to engage a person if a picture is attached to it.

  • People are on facebook because they are bored. So most engagement post are thoose which give them something interesting.

I often use this site http://www.fliptext.org/ because post made by it get’s a lot of comments and likes.

  • @Jeanine Vecchiarelli,
I think using humor is great idea. One of the best things about social media is our ability to experiment and keep experimenting until we find what works.
