Creating a Facebook page on an unfamiliar subject (5 posts)

I have developed several Facebook pages for businesses in the entertainment, travel and health industries and I had no problem coming up with interesting topics to post about to engage followers. But recently someone approached me about working on their company’s Facebook page, for medical exam prep tests, and I’m having a hard time figuring out how I would go about engaging followers on a topic that’s dryer and less entertaining and, also, which I know nothing about.
Any ideas?

The best way is to connect with similar pages, leading hospitals, medicos and other medical community pages. I have seen many doctors and hospitals running separate medico community pages especially for medicos. You can connect with them using your page (not personal profile) and can share their content on your page, can contribute on their pages by commenting on their posts using your page (again not your profile) and you can also post fresh, unique content with medical knowledge. You can also connect with medical colleges and universities and grad schools pages. I am giving you some pages that i got connected with for my our charity hospital (although our is an indian charity hospital so pages i am connected with may be for india or for internal region as well):These are few pages our hospital is connected with and contributes:
(one hot suggestion, since yours is medical/health related, you should not miss any national/international medical day like world heart day, world diabetes day, world aids day etc. – there is a tradition on fb and social media sites to celebrate this days with separate, event dedicated page i.e. for world heart day, WHO created facebook.com/worldheartday page)

Depending on what type of exam is it, I would add photos to engage people in caption games. For example, posting a pic of a muscle or a bone from one of the anatomy tests and asking them if they can recognize it. It will make it fun enough

@moinshaikh, thanks for the suggestions and the links to these Facebook pages. I’ll definitly check them out. I’ve never had much success developing connections by joining other Facebook pages. Leaving comments and sharing other pages’ content rarely brought visitors back to my page, but perhaps I just haven’t given it enough time.
@brankicaunderwood, that’s a great idea!. I had my doubts about coming up with fun posts for a medical page but you’ve now got me coming up with some new ideas, along these lines.

There are also numerous websites that highlight medical issues on various health related topics.
Also check http://www.khanacademy.org for educational and exam related solutions.
