Cool features for Facebook groups (5 posts)

    It seems like there are a lot of cool apps out there for adding content to Facebook “pages”, however not many of these work with Facebook “groups”. I mainly work within a closed Facebook group comprised of customers, and wondering if there is anything cool that you can do with groups?

    I don’t think there is a ton you can do with Facebook Groups – you can’t add any Apps.  I do like the Docs feature they have there and I use it for small forums, private groups to communicate, and other types of things like that.  What I like about the Groups is the notifications you get so you are really aware of the posts (although for some that may be too much noise).

    Groups are nice to keep conversations to a target, but they’re not particularly app friendly at present. When Pages came around, Groups began to get a little less cachet…though they still have value.

    I am seeing more activity in my groups. Unlike pages that are getting less hits on the ticker,  these are concentrated on people who expressed an interest.  

    Additionally, I searched for 2 different pages & they were not found. Anyone else seeing this? Granted, both pages were fairly new, but I verified both were published.

    The notifications are definately nice, when this group started it was in the old Facebook group and you couldn’t simply “upgrade” to the new group. So we had to start a completely new one and try to migrate over all of our members from the old one to the new one.

    Since we did that, the notifications part has definately increased our interaction, and we have a lot more participation than we did in the old group.

    The documents are nice, they tend to be really glitchy, I just wish there were more options for content.
