Hi,

I’m trying to convert a personal profile to a page but keep getting this message in both Chrome and Firefox.

Complete this process on a recognised device

For your security, you need to complete this process from a computer you’ve used for browsing Facebook in the past. If this isn’t possible, contact customer support.

Have you had this problem before and what did you do?

I also noticed that on the personal profile http://www.facebook.com/Ecomoana it say ‘(sup)’ next to the name. I have never seen that before.

What does it mean?

@jorgenpoulsen i had same problem jorgen. What they mean is that the profile you’re trying to convert to page is set up in a way that it has to be logged in from regular pc/mobile which is generally used to use fb. (I assume you’re doing it on behalf of your client who has setup such security setting.) what you need to do is show these converting process steps to client (it it’s your client’s) and ask him/her to complete the steps. I had same issue for one of my client and i did same and it worked with no hassle!!! Let me know if you need any further assistance.

P.S.: Facebook has a security setting where we can setup recognized devices such as our home/work pc or mobile which facebook stores as our regular or recognized device (using that system’s ip address) so if someone even hacks your password and tries to login from his pc, it won’t work for him coz facebook will identify hacker’s ip as a strange/new ip)

@jorgenpoulsen that’s really critical problem, i mean when i faced this situation, i followed steps i mentioned above and it worked for me. I don’t know why its not working for you. If there is no recognized device setup then it shall not ask you to complete it from recog. device.

Anyway, try it in sometimes, in the meantime i’ll also look for such problem solution and if get anything, ‘ll comeback to you

P.S. Re. your fb photo: when i saw it first time i was surprise to see and didn’t understand why you put it there

I just checked on my own personal profile and no recognised devices comes up.

What devices comes up when you look at your personal profile?

I can log in to the personal profile I’m trying to convert but when I go to the recognised device area it says that there are no recognised devices and when I click edit it doesn’t show any options either.

It’s exactly the same on my own personal profile.

@jorgenpoulsen after login to your fb from iphone, go to account setting and try to add recog device which you earlier did (refer: http://www.linkedin.com/answers/marketing-sales/advertising-promotion/internet-marketing/MAR_ADP_INM/936758-120493336)

Well we all know how renowned FB are for not not responding but we will see.

@jorgenpoulsen i know fb is known not to respond to our query. I am now reporting this issue to our FB club head @andrea-vahl. 

@andrea-vahl can you please advise if there is any solution to @jorgenpoulsen‘s problem? We’have tried everything here
