Changing a Profile image on a page (7 posts)

    HI all,

    I know that Facebook can be wonky at times, but I have been trying to upload a profile image with a new .png file all day without any success.  I logged out of Facebook, logged back in, shut down Chrome, tried in IE, tried from a laptop, shut down the computer and restarted. The only thing I haven’t done is try to take my laptop to a Panera or Starbucks.

    This is the error I get “There was an error updating your profile picture. Please try again.”
    Any suggestions or just wait until tomorrow?

    This has happened to me before, too. I logged out of FB and tried again about 2 hours later. I don’t have an explanation, but it seemed to work.

    Dee – Have you tried using Firefox?  Facebook seems to play nice with Firefox for me.

    Is your image the right size, @deereinhardt?  It’s 180×180 pixels.   Larger photos will work but sometimes it’s picky.  
    This has also happened to me and I’ve just come back later and it works.

    Is it working now @deereinhardt? This happened to me too, and when I went back to check the measurements like @andrea-vahl mentioned in her post, I realized my file was too big.

    The image is 180×180 and .png format.  I manage about 15 facebook pages for people and this is the only one that has given me this problem.  I have been away from the computer all morning so I will try it again.

    So now it is happening on another page.  I thought about removing the image and uploading a new image, but a wrongly sized one to me seems better than none at all.

    I tried from someone else’s computer on a different server and that didn’t work either.

    I also tried to input a .jpg instead of a .png.  I just don’t understand.

    @andrea-vahl or anyone do you have any other suggestions for me?
