Can you ban a user who has not posted on your page? (9 posts)

Topic tags: administrator, ban, rights
  • Ran into an issue where I was told to ban a user on one of our pages and he wants the user banned on all of the pages.  The user has not posted on the other two pages at all ~ is there a way to ban the user from those pages?

  • I found this in Facebook help… I don’t think you can set up a ban for just anyone; they have to have Liked the page (you can check if this user has liked your page; he would have to do so in order to post on the page).  You may just have to wait until the user decides to post on the other pages to put the ban in place. Hope that helps.

  • @dedimason Weird.

I was just having this same issue this morning, Dedi!

Looks like they need to interact with your page somehow.

    Hope that helps.

  • Thanks, @fayebrogi and  @russellallert ~ I thought that was the case because I’d combed through everything and couldn’t find a way to do it.  Guess I’ll just have to see if she posts on the other two pages.  Crazy when you get told to ban one of three owners because she’s a troublemaker!

  • @dedimason Whoah! One of the owners?  Oh, that doesn’t sound like it will end well… good luck with that!

  • You can pre-emptively ban someone @dedimason – just follow the tips in the first section of the Help.  You have to comb through all the Likes to find them first but then you can ban them before they post.

Yes, doesn’t sound like a good relationship!  :)

  • @fayebrogi ~ LONG story . . . but yeah.

@andrea-vahl ~ Problem there is that she hasn’t even liked ANY of the pages.  She hadn’t liked the page she was going ballistic on . . . even though she’s 1/3 owner of that business.  It’s pretty crazy!

  • That is crazy.
I think you can report her by page/name/comment etc and even ban / block her if necessary. Change passwords etc.

  • @jamericanspice ~ I’m just watching the pages closely.  The minute she posts on either of the other two, I’ll be banning her.
