business likes (6 posts)

  • i just  read   a link  from  andrea  where  it  said  a  business page  should   like  another page….do  you  do  that?  i do as a person   but not as a business…..

  • I do with most of my pages.  It’s easy to do for those who don’t know, in the upper right corner click on the settings icon (the cog) and Use Facebook As “Your Page”.  I go around and like pages that are relevant to me.  This really just let’s you post as your page on other pages comments, have your own newsfeed, feature pages you like on your Timeline which is really cool if the pages are your own. But there is more value if you can do some cross promotion/branding with other Pages.

I would love to hear if anyone else has any tips.

  • interesting  dan…..why  would  you encourage  other businesses  to talk  to your  customers?

i could  see  wanting  to post on other pages  as a  business tho…lol…but i dont  do it..i wouldnt  expect another  business to   promote mine…

  • It may not make sense for everyone, but remember not all pages are businesses.  There are a lot of public figures, artists, bands, companies with smaller brands, organizations etc that can benefit from posting on other pages and having others post on theirs.

Just like in the blogging world where you have communities built around niches and guest posts on other blogs to drive traffic to your own, you can apply the same principle to Facebook.  It may not be as easy as that but it can be done.

For instance I manage a record labels page that has 5 artists on the label, and all of those pages are interconnected and the label will comment on the artist page and the artists will comment on the label page and other artist pages.

    Hope that makes some sense

  • @dain-hanson ~glad  you found  this place~

i see what  you  mean,  that  really makes  sense  for  your  business…and lots of others..

.but probably not  mine,    i have a store   and it would  be  frowned on  in  my  world…  .it was  fun  free    advice on a link   on  grandma marys page…it  gave a a neat little  critique  for your page and that  was one of the suggestions  for mine.. .

  • one great example of this I think is sharing community events and outreach from something like a Chamber of Commerce website.I also share weather or emergency broadcast things. Although we have a very small following, I try to keep our page looking active and human. Cancer support pages, heart health and those kinds of things, too.
