Best Social Media Dashboard (14 posts)

  • Hello All!!  I’d like to get some thoughts on which social media dashboard you all think is best.  I’m currently using HootSuite and trying to decide if I want to upgrade to HootSuite Pro or switch entirely.  I’d like to be able to post from my facebook page, Twitter, LinkedIn company page, and Google+ company page.

What are your suggestions?  And is Hootsuite Pro worth the upgrade?

    Thanks in advance!

  • I use Hootsuite Pro and love it, I hope they get Google+ added soon to make my life a lot easier. I also use Buffer, although Hootsuite can schedule tweets, it’s nice to add tweets into your schedule automatically while browsing the web.

  • @amcain I was experimenting with the Seesmic desktop app that was pretty fast and reliable – until I ran into some problems with the Mac app. Haven’ t tried out Seesmic ping yet. But I agree with @mattjham, Hootsuite is the best out there.

  • Thanks for the recommendations!!  I think I’ll go ahead and upgrade to HootSuite Pro!

  • @amcain I also use and highly recommend Hootsuite Pro. I have multiple accounts to manage and it makes scheduling, updating, viewing, and searching related topics a breeze. I am, like  @mattjham and really hoping for the Google+ integration to happen very soon!

  • We are big fans of Sprout Social https://sproutsocial.com/

Its a great platform we have been using for about 18 months now. Sadly it seems only the big boys such as Vitrue and Hootsuite Enterprise have access to Google + as they are the only ones who Google have given API access too.

  • Sprout Social  @amcain

  • Hi @amcain
Hootsuite pro is worth it. Have heard good things about Sprout Social too

  • Take a look at Argyle too. Nice program with lots of new features. For hubze and Fan Page Engine we test alot of these and personally I hate Hootsuite. Not sure what it is, but just don’t like it. I use Tweetdeck to monitor our Twitter accounts and that’s it. We have tried Sprout Social and it works well. Conversocial is pretty cool too.

For me I’m pretty much against scheduling tweets and Facebook posts as I want things to look natural. And with all the supposed penalties on Facebook for using the 3rd party apps I’ve stayed away from them. I pretty much do all Facebook page management on Facebook.

  • I too am Hootsuite fan.  I like it for it’s ability to monitor and post to multiple accounts.  The schedule function is useful when away especially on holiday, where there may not be internet access or abroad where data charges are excessive and at least, there is then limited action on the account.

  • Looking for a dashboard that allows me to post and tract on LinkedIn groups, FB, Twitter, G+.  Anyone know of a program that will “do it all”? Need custom or non-branded attribution as well

  • Hi @janecook,

Hootsuite recently added LinkedIn. They will also support Google Plus but only for Enterprise accounts.
@amcain – thanks for starting this very useful thread!

  • I have ran Ads on facebook – last month I spent 2200 and dint get a call-I have a free ads on craigs list and get 10 to 15 callas and half that turns to sells-Adwords is ok expensive and not consistant- Any thoughts on facebook ads-?

    Anyone ever heard of mywebees?

  • @Jt Bryant, I’ve replied to your facebook ads thread.

Re dashboards, whilst i totally agree with @Scott Ayres re the penalties (they are there no matter what you get told, and I think they are stronger than ever!), you’re better off using a dashboard than not posting at all.

I’ve started using Postling http://www.postling.com and think it is far better than all the others and i have tried most of them.

I’m really impressed with what they are doing and their responsiveness…..if there is an API to hook into, they will add it!
