B2B Facebook messaging (2 posts)

  • Hi,

My name is Jennifer and I am co-owner of Savvy with Mobile, which specializes in creating mobile friendly websites for small businesses in the Phoenix area.

My question is regarding using Facebook messaging to get in touch with other small business owners.  I have a business friend with a similar business to mine who has been using Facebook messaging to contact small business owners in order to generate leads.  He’s been having luck in getting clients this way.  I was wondering if this is ok to do, or is it considered spam?  Has anyone else tried this with success?  Or what other ways do you use Facebook for lead generation?

I was going to use the following script in my message to small business owners.  Any feedback on whether this is good or not would be appreciated!

    “Hi,
My name is Jennifer and I am the owner of Savvy with Mobile.  I see that you own a small business in the Phoenix area and are using social media to connect with your customers, which is great!  Have you considered making your business mobile friendly?

Some of the benefits of a mobile friendly website include:

    •    Interact and engage your customers with mobile-only deals
    •    Make your website easy to see and navigate on a mobile device (viewing your desktop site on a mobile phone doesn’t work!)
    •    Maintain your good reputation with your existing customers and gain new customers by becoming mobile friendly (nowadays, your customers expect you to be mobile friendly and won’t hesitate to go to your competitor if you aren’t)
    •    Have all your important information in an easy-to-read format so your customers don’t have a frustrating mobile experience.  61% of customers will leave a website and not return if it’s not mobile friendly.

My passion is to help small business owners with their mobile website needs.  I would like to set an appointment to come by and see you so we can discuss what your business needs.  I can show you examples of mobile friendly websites in person so you can see how yours could look.  Do you have 20 minutes available to get together?  You can message me back or call at the number below.  I look forward to meeting you!

In the meantime, please visit my website here for more info:  savvywithmobile.com.

Take care and have a prosperous 2013!

Thanks in advance for your help!

  • I like your message, @jennifer-bradshaw – I think some may consider it spam but it’s very friendly.  What are others thoughts on this?  If someone messages your Facebook page would you feel like it was spam if they were talking about their business?
