  • Which email marketing service is better?

  • You can also add infusionsoft to this list but it depends on your needs.

I have used Aweber for years and still do. I have used other shopping cart software that has an email marketing system built in but Aweber is my main system.

  • I love MailChimp! It’s easy to use and the cost is … free!

  • Was useing constant contact just switched to mail chimp 3 months ago love love love..so easy and has a nice clean look

  • I just started building my list, and I went straight to Mail Chimp. So far it has been a dream to use. VERY easy, with such straightforward directions even I can’t mess up! lol

  • I haven’t tried Aweber or Get Responses, but I love MailChimp!

  • @scottieschufford-anderson – I have used Aweber for years and love their system. Their support is really good as well. Mailchip, constant contact, and the others are also good options, but I just prefer Aweber’s UI more for some reason.

The only downside with any of the options above is when you have to manually import a list. With each of the platforms you have to submit the list and wait for the contacts to answer an opt-in message. This often leads to a lot of attrition and you cannot import the same list twice.

Conclusion:If you are building your list purely online, then any of the above will work. If you are looking to start with a list that you are going to import, I would check into North Social as they will allow you to import a large list w/o having everyone opt-in as long as you agree to their terms of service.

    Hope that helps,Chris

  • Found this previous discussion. Interesting to compare to a current thread:http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/clubs/small-business/forum/topic/using-mailchimp/  @scottieschufford-anderson @naomitrower @juleswebb @chrismccarty @jodiokun  @jeaninevecchiarelli

  • I too am a Mail Chimp fanatic.  Moved from iContact back in December and I am not looking back!

  • I posted on LinkedIn a few months ago asking the very same question and MailChimp was the clear winner based on 80+ recommendations.

  • @chrismccarty Great info. Have you had any experience with Vertical Response?
Also, I hadn’t heard of North Social — it looks like it’s a Facebook app, is that correct?

  • Mailchimp is amazing.

Recently discovered the tool that if you’ve previously mailed to your list you can then segment by geography, even if you haven’t gathered that info at time of opt-in.

Continually surprised by new and pleasing features.

  • We use mailchimp and love it – besides the ESP itself you need to look at how well it integrates with your blog/website. We used getresponse and their sign up form java script caused some of the java script on our eCommerce site to fail and so we had to disable the front page sign up form – rather than give up 2 website features – as an example.
