Are Hootesuite Posts Still Being Downgraded? (5 posts)

    I think I heard Mari Smith on the Small Biz Success Summit the other day say that Facebook was no longer diminishing the value of items posted by a 3rd party tool (like Hootesuite.)

    Did I hear right? Does anyone have any evidence (link, etc.) of this change in policy?

    I think third party apps in general are still being downgraded to a degree but not as much as they were.

    The key thing is this; downgraded posts are better than no posts at all so if you are going to abandon the 3rd party apps then you better make sure you keep posting to all your pages.

    So discipline and time become the key factor more so than if they downgrade or not coz if you have the discipline and time, do them manually for sure!

    @rich-brooks  I just saw a number of Hootsuite posts “collapsed” in the news feed the other day so it’s still happening.  They have gone back and forth on this so it’s been hard to keep up.  I do agree with  @scottlinklater that it’s sometimes better to just get that Hootsuite post in rather than no post.

    I have also noticed that Hootsuite-based messages were not showing up properly in Facebook 1-2 weeks ago, then tried it again yesterday and it showed up as good as if I had posted manually (not collapsed). So not sure what the deal is…

    Would love to hear from Mari Smith or other Facebook experts on this one…
